Jacob - April 18, 2016

This week was good. My comp and I are have
been doing a lot of finding. It's tough, but we are staring to get
better at street contacting and some other things. Um something that I
did this week was the attributes of Christ activity in PMG. One thing
that has been on my mind this week was faith. I've been studying it
quite a bit and it's a pretty interesting principle. I think it's cool
how the scriptures say what can come when we have faith, but from what
I could tell, there isn't a lot of scriptures that say exactly what we
have to do in order to increase it. It's something that is different
for everyone I guess. But that's my opinion, I could be completely
wrong for all I know. Anyways there are other things I need to
improve, but it's pretty cool how Heavenly Father has been providing
me experiences where I can become more like the savior. I have been
starting to notice a lot more miracles and tender mercies as I have
focused on bettering myself. I can't think of too much that happened
other than trying to improve myself, but my comp made the nice comment
of how many Christlike attributes that I do have at the moment. That
was really comforting. It's good to know I'm doing something right.
Anyways this is mostly what I can think of now at the moment.
Hopefully it's enough for you guys to have an idea what's going on.
But I love you all and i hope you have an awesome week!

Jacob - April 11, 2016

Hey mom, I thought I'd send ya a quick email.. this week was good. I
had my first baptism! I baptized an investigator back in my old area,
he's super tall. I'll try and send pictures soon, but man it was
tough. Haha, but it was super cool and humbling that he chose me to do
it. Also this week I had 2 exchanges. One with a ZL (I'm district mom
right now, so that's fun), I also went on one with another elder in
the district. They both went pretty good, but you can definitely tell
the difference between a ZL and a missionary that's one transfer
younger than me. Hmm I think that's mostly it for this week. The
language has been picking up pretty good recently. I'm starting to
understand a little bit more, especially with gospel discussions, but
I still get lost a few times.

Um this week I've been trying to figure
out what makes imperfect past so special. Or I guess when it's
appropriate to use it. I've kind of came to a conclusion. Um also I've
been working on subjunctive, that's a killer, but it's not too bad
once I start to recognize the triggers. I've already got a few down.
Like querer or esperar, to name a few. Oh man what else... I think
that's mainly it. The teaching is good, lots of finding, but I mean
it's all part of the work. Hopefully we'll find some solid people
soon. We got a referral yesterday that looks promising so we'll see
what happens with that. But that's it for this week. Love ya mom, hope
you have a good one!

Jacob - April 4, 2016

Hey mom, sounds like you had a good week. That's good to hear, this
message probably won't be too long because I wrote you on Thursday,
not a ton has happened since then. Probably the most awesome thing was
conference and talking with a member that goes to an English Ward. His
name was Mark but he has a sweet 65' Impala. I'm going to need some
pictures with it, but he himself is way cool as well. We were able to
connect on a few things like what we've done for work. I told him
about the D.O.T. And he told me about his trucking job and some other
stuff. But we both came to the conclusion that working with a bunch of
other guys can be crazy. Haha, that was a fun chat with him, that was
on Sunday and overall that was one of the best days of my mission.
Conference was so awesome! I could not believe how fast it went, I
really regret how I looked at conference in the past. It truly is a
blessing to have prophets and apostles. There was a ton of good
messages, even Priesthood was super good and how I can better magnify
my calling. Unfortunately I didn't baptize Ethan quite yet, it's
planned for next Sunday because a lot of the members that gave him the
most support were up in Utah for conference. But next week it should
be going down. Anyways I can't think much else to say. I love you mom,
take care.

Jacob - March 28, 2016

Hey Mom, has it going? Sorry I didn't write Monday, our P-day is today
instead. We had a temple trip and we just finished our session so that
was pretty relaxing. But this past week and a half has been good. The
new area is pretty good. It's definitely not as bad as Elder
Galleguillos made it sound when I talked to him about it. It's super
small though at least compared to my old area, but I like it. We are
on bike and I bought one that is pretty nice. The entire package with
brakes and lights and the bike was like $475. Not too bad since the
bike is really good quality. But I don't think you want to hear about
my bike so I'll get back on topic. Um Elder Fonnesbeck is pretty cool.
He is pretty goal driven which I like and also he is super good at
exercise in the mornings so that's also fun. And he also helps me out
a lot with the Spanish which is sweet. Right now I'm trying to improve
my ability on Subjunctive which is different since there isn't a
English equivalent, but I'm picking up on it. One thing that he said
to me is that my Spanish now is how his Spanish was at one year so
that was a pretty nice compliment. I know I can speak it alright, but
understanding it is still tough. Another thing that happened this week
is that we had a zone meeting on the importance of studies. I need to
change up mine a little bit, but I always love those meetings because
I learn something that I can improve. Oh and the people we're teaching
are doing pretty well. We've been teaching a family that are sweet! I
think they're questions are some of the best I've heard yet and it's
awesome because there is zero hesitancy in them asking them. Super
cool, but so far they like everything they've been hearing. Oh boy I'm
having trouble remembering stuff... Ok one last thing. An investigator
back in SA10 (old area) wants me to baptize him this Sunday! I'll send
some pictures of that to ya soon. But that's pretty much the past week
or so, hopefully it's enough to put in the blog thing. Love ya mom,
you're awesome!

Jacob - March 21, 2016

Hey everyone! Sorry again for sending out a group email, but I know
for a fact that I'm not going to have a ton of time to write today.
Today is Transfers! I'm changing areas and companions. I'm heading to
Santa Ana 11 West. The same area that my trainer was in before he
moved to Santa Ana 10. He was telling me all about for the last day or
two. People I should try and visit or things to watch out for. I guess
it's pretty much the most ghetto area in The mission so I'm stoked. My
Comp is going to be Elder Fonsbeck. He's been out for quite a while,
but I'm excited because I'm probably going to learn a lot of Spanish
because I won't have a native companion to rely on. Hopefully all will
go well. I'm a little nervous because I want to leave a good
impression, but it'll be hard since I don't speak fluent or anything,
but it'll be ok. Anyways this week was good. My comp and I tried to
keep busy with finding people. Nothing too crazy happened. Spanish is
coming along, I'm doing my best to stay on top of it. I like to read
it. I can understand Tayler and Lexie's emails that they send me, but
speaking it is a little tough. Um what else... Oh we had a talent show
this week that went pretty well. We brought an investigator with us
and also another member brought a date that will soon be an
investigator. But that's all I can think of for now. So I love you
guys and I hope you have a great week.

Jacob - March 14, 2016

Hey everyone, sounds like everyone had a good time listening to
Tayler's homecoming. I know conversion is a big part of the gospel so
that was probably a real good topic. I think each day I become a
little more converted to the gospel and to this work. It's pretty
humbling to go door to door and realize the significance that the
gospel is. There are so many people here that turn us down and they
don't even know what we share. Sometimes I wish people would give us
more chances, but it does make me really appreciate the people that do
give us a shot. But anyways this week was pretty good. We had some
good lessons and found some new people that were excited to work with.
But one part that was pretty disappointing was that our investigator
that wants to get baptized didn't have any time for us this past
week... So he did t get baptized, but hopefully this week we'll get
him. I think a highlight for this week is that we got to have a
,eating with Elder Hamula. That was super cool and shared a lot of
advice how we can become more Christlike and be better consecrated. It
was really good. We also had a good district meeting about using
scriptures in our lessons, that was good as well. But nothing super
new happened this week. Just working everyday, trying to find people
interested in the gospel. My Spanish is going good. If it's a
discussion regarding the gospel I'm pretty good. But if it's small
talk trying to get to know them, it's tough. But it's going well. I've
been reading random scriptures in the Book of Mormon like yesterday I
read 1 Nephi 8 about Lehi's vision. Um I'm not too sure what else to
say, but I got some sweet photos for you guys so stay in tune. Love
you all, I hope you have a great week.

Jacob - March 7, 2016

Hey mom, that's pretty awesome to see that Tayler is back home. Man it's weird, but I'm not too far behind, considering I've got 5 months already. That went by quick. But this week was pretty good for me. My highlight was definitely Sunday, but I'll save that for the end. Another highlight is that I had an exchange with one of the ZL's. I went to his area and had a lot of fun with him. We started the day out right by playing soccer with another set of missionaries. That was a lot of fun because usually missionaries don't live within the same apartment complex. Plus I knew one of them from my first transfer in the field. With Elder Thornton we had a pretty good day of mostly teaching less actives. Those were pretty good lessons and I understood quite a bit of what was shared. But I had a lot of fun with him and just trying my best to become better by following his example. We also spoke a ton of Spanish, that was nice. But also we found some cool people this week, we'll sort of. We taught some cool people. One is Luis and the other is Jose. Luis is pretty cool cause we're 95% certain he has been taught in the past because he has a picture of the San Diego temple in his home, but he is super open to the message. Also Jose is a teenager we found that has a super tough life, but we're trying to show him how much the gospel can bless him. He's pretty cool, but his story really makes me appreciate what I have... Sometimes I wonder why Heavenly Father decided to bless me with all I have when there are tons of people out there that could be in my shoes. Not sure if I'll ever figure that question out, but anyways. Back to this Sunday. Everything went super well. Testimonies were really good and one of the members shared her testimony in English so that one of my investigators could understand, but man it was powerful. And later in gospel principles I finally had a class where I understood everything, also nice. Later after church we taught Ethan about some of the commandments, also went really well and right after that we watched a baptism with him. But the thing that I'm most excited about is that after the baptism he was going around telling people that he's getting baptized next week. He even told my mission president. So my comp and I are super excited and are probably going to super focus on him this week. But man I can't wait! Anyways hopefully that's enough for this week. I love you mom, hope you enjoy the company of Tayler. Se cuida!

Jacob - February 29, 2016

Hey sorry again that I have to write a group email, hopefully it's not
too bad for all of you. I figure I write usually the same stuff to
everyone anyways. But this week was pretty good. The Spanish is coming
along. I still don't give myself a ton of credit, but I usually pick
up on most things and I can usually figure out certain words by the
way sentences of flow, so that's improving as well. I think I mainly
need to work on teaching simpler with better verbs, probably also my
ability to conjugate. But so far so good, can't really complain about.
I just barely read Tayler's email, granted there were words I didn't
know, but I understood everything, so that's pretty cool. Also I make
more jokes now since I can understand people, so people are starting
to like me more. Um this week for teaching was good, we were able to
find some people we've been struggling to get a hold of, we also found
some new people were going to teach tonight or later this week. I'm
pretty excited about them because they seemed to have genuine
interest. We passed a super cool family this week to English, the
Vargas Family. Man their sweet, we have a visit with them tomorrow to
help them switch over to English. Also we have another kid who is
progressing really well. Yesterday we taught him the law of chastity
and how he has to move out, he was super ok with it and took
everything really well. He's got a date for the the 13th of March, but
he has a lot of distractions going on right now that we're concerned
about so be sure to pray for him. Other investigators are doing well,
I think the toughest part is just not seeing people do commitments
because I see them as blessings, but they see it as wasting time or
something. I just wish people could change their minds a little bit.
But also the packet on the atonement is super good. I really like the
several messages that I've been able to read. One of the things that
caught my mind is that we need to be submissive when it comes to
making change. I know all of us want to change for the better, but
Heavenly Father is only going to help us if we are willing to follow
his will. I guess it's something to think about. Ok last thing, we had
a service and school called el modelo or "Elmo" we did a blood drive
and it was pretty chill. Um I can't really think of much else to say.
Les Amo! Que Tengan un buena semana! Yo espero que ustedes tengan un
gran tiempo cuando Tayler llegue. Se cuidan!

Elder Baer

Here's some pics for you guys. The reason we're wearing sweats is
because of a rule that wasn't being very I forced, but president
thought it was time to re I force it. It's not too bad, but I'm just
waiting till it's actually summer. But following the lord equals
blessings so it's define toy worth it. I think Mosiah 4:9 fits it
pretty well. We may not understand the purpose of some commandments,
but the lord does, so we just need to be obedient and trust in him. I
think that goes for a lot more than just this no shorts rule. Oh and
the shirts are from the blood drive we went to earlier this week. Well
that's it for today. Love you guys and take care!

Tayler - March 1, 2016

HE'S HOME! After 2 years of faithful service, Tayler has returned home from the Buenos Aires, Argentian South mission. There are few moments as precious as this one for a mother. I am so proud of Tayler, for his service to the Lord, his service to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, to the people in Argentina, and for the personal growth he experienced while there. He left a 19 year old boy and has returned a man. Watch out world, he has much to contribute! I love you, Tayler.

Jacob - February 22, 2016

Hey mom, it sounds like you had a pretty good week. Well to tell you the truth, not a ton sticks out for this week. But everything is good. My comp and I have people were working with. One's a teenager that has a date for the 6th of March. He's been doing pretty good on the commitments and everything so we're excited about him. Um I guess other investigators are doing ok. Some definitely progress better than others. But we're trying to help everyone we can to grow closer to Heavenly Father and Christ. The language is coming, im starting to get more compliments about my Spanish from members so that's cool. I still feel like I know zero about the language, but I guess it's going ok. Also something that I'm excited about is a packet we got from our mission president. He gave us a 100 and something page packet all on the Atonement. I've read a little about it and man it's super good. One thing that PMG says is when we understand the atonement more, our desire to share the gospel will increase, so hopefully that'll ring true with me as I read it. Anyways I can't think of much else to write, so I love you mom. Take care.

MY LAST P-DAY!

well i can hardly beleive this is my last week either its so weird. But we had a pretty good week we found some new investigators so that was good hopefully they will progress and also we got back in contact with some investigators that we couldnt find for a long time. also today we had a district activity wich was planned very poorly but we had fun anyway. we ate tacos cause one of the missionaries in my district is from mexico. Well other than that not much happened. Wednsday elder bednar is coming to talk to all the missionaries in buenos aires so there will be like 800 missionaries there wich should be cool. And yeah so thats about it i dont know what else to tell you. I love you and i will see you next week.

Jacob - February 15, 2016

Hey everyone, first off sorry about writing a group email this week.
It's not my favorite since I don't get to personalize it as much, but
hopefully it's alright with you guys. Anyways this week was mostly
good. It started out super good with a member present lesson on
Tuesday that was super powerful, but unfortunately the investigator
has a lot of problems that she is trying to fix before she commits to
taking lessons from us. We're going to try and keep in touch with her
though because we know that she likes our message and what we stand
for. We also had a lesson with our most promising investigator, He is
super white, we teach him in English but because of the circumstances.
But he is doing super well, he reads the scriptures and pamphlets,
prays and goes to church. He also has a date for the 6th of March. We
have another lesson with him tonight. Um also I went on an exchange
with Elder Cahoon. He is pretty good and super good at talking with
everyone, something I need to improve on. But I feel like when my
Spanish improves I'll get better at that. My Spanish right now is
alright. People can generally understand what I'm trying to say. I'll
give an example of what i said the other day. So we knocked a less
actives home, he wasn't there, but instead of going out the normal
way, I wanted to try the back exit which was definitely a spiritual
impression because we ended up seeing the less active coming up the
stairs. Anyways what I said to him at the some point in the
conversation was "quiere nosotros a llamarle?" (Super bad, but he
understood.) i should of said "quiere que nosotros le lamamos?" But
also the guy was in a huge hurry and I had to think super fast, plus I
didn't understand a whole lot what he said, but that was my guess of
what he did say and I went for it. That same day I was on an exchange
with Elder Cahoon and one think I like a lot from him is that he leads
by example. He does a super good job at talking with everyone, but
also giving me those same opportunities where I can practice my
Spanish. Oh also this week I made the cake you guys sent me for my
B-day, it's super good. Thanks for that. Um and lastly we got robbed.
I forgot to lock the car when we were at the church and we were gone
for like 45 minutes.. But when we came back out a bunch of stuff was
missing... But I'm sad because my comps marked up Book of Mormon was
stolen along with his bag... I felt pretty bad, but he says it's
alright and doesn't seem to be bothered by it. I guess it's just a
trial, I'm sure I'll get over it soon. We just laugh about it now. I
think that's mostly it for this week. Sorry about the group email
again, but I love you all and hope you have awesome weeks. Cuidan se!

Tayler - February 15, 2016

Well the time sure is flying by. And yes i am kind of stressed out about coming home. I dont know what i am going to do it is going to be a big change in lifestyle i think. Well this week it rained alot again but that happens every week it seems like this summer it has been raining a lot more than last summer. we had zone conference so we talked about teaching repentance and baptising converts wich was good i always like when president thurgood talks to us he knows a lot of stuff. Also we did some exchanges with other elders this week so that was fun but it makes the time go by a lot faster and this week we are going to do 3 exchanges so that is going to make the time fly by even faster. Well i have been buying some stuff to bring home and gifts and stuff i dont really know what to buy everyone so i am just buying random stuff and i hope that you all like them. And yeah so its going good our investigator that we thought wasnt going to go to paraguay in the end went to paraguay and we arent sure what day he gets home so if he doesnt get home before the 27th i wont have anymore baptisms that is kind of sad to think about. So i think thats about it for this week i only have one more p day so i will write to you next week. I love you

Jacob - February 8, 2016

Hey mom, I guess I'll answer your questions from the get go. This week was pretty good, there were some pretty cool things that my comp and I were able to do. We had a ton of opportunities to serve this week. One activity was helping out a humanitarian organization, it was a lot of fun and we were able to play some basketball and baseball in this pretty big wear house type building. The other activity was helping out with a neighborhood clean up in our area. We just were moving a lot of old furniture and throwing stuff away for people. But we were able to do that with the Priests in the stake and after that we tried doing missionary work with them. Just talking to random people and giving out Books of Mormon. It was pretty fun. Also this week the other elders in my district had two baptisms. That was a lot of fun as well especially since I knew one of the guys that was getting baptized. I met him in my first transfer. He's a pretty cool guy that was dating a member so that opened the door for him and now he is a member. Another thing that was cool was that we had a lesson that was super good. We had a member family with us and we re-taught the restoration, but everything that needed to be said was said. It was super cool and the spirit was really powerful. I just hope the investigators finally make the decision to start acting one the commitments we leave them. Oh and for my scripture I want it to be Jacob 5:71. I read that analogy of the tame and wild olive trees and man it's super good when you figure out what it's relating to. So yeah, if you can change it that'd be awesome, I'd also talk to dad about it because he sent me some stuff about my plaque as well. Well I think that's mostly it, today I moved apartments which was t very fun. I don't even live in my area anymore, just the district boundaries. But it's all good, were pretty much all settled now which is why this email is pretty late. But I love you mom, let me know if there is anything else you want me to be writing about. Se cuida!

Tayler - February 8, 2016

well we had a pretty good week. We have one investigator who is progressing so that is cool and his bapism should be on the 20th so we are excited for that. His name is Dan and he is 10 years old, his mom told us he was going to go on vacation to paraguay and wasnt going to get back until march but plans changed and he isnt going afterall so we should be having his baptism here in a few weeks. Also this other lady named Mirta came to church wich was cool we found her last week and she really liked church, the only problem with her is that she is not married, we call those people juntados cause they are together but not married and that happens all the time here. well those are our two main investigators rigt now and we feel good about them. Now we have to find more new investigators we found a ton but they didnt progress and in the last few weeks we have found only a few but they are the ones who come to church its weird how that happens. and yeah so about the homecoming i dont really care what kind of food we make. Something simple, so that would not include anything from argentina everything is so complicated to make here, so what ever you think would be good is good for me. but i will think about that and let you know next week. And as for himns i dont know either i will think about that too. and last week i took money out of my savings to do some more shopping i am trying to find some cool stuff to bring back so i am good on money dont worry about that. well I love you and have a good week.

Jacob - February 1. 2016

Hey mom thanks for your email. Sounds like Ely has a ton of snow.. I'm assuming it's the same for Utah. Probably a lot of good skiing this year, but oh well I'll go when I get back. And to answer some of your questions.. The thing I ate was a jalapeño, it was pretty hot, but not too bad. I'm pretty used to chile's now and I like to prove to members that I'm not afraid. But I have eaten some pretty spicy foods here. I'm still not a fan of everything. For example I ate a sandwich the other day that was eh. But I forced it down.. But I've been eating a lot of other things that I probably wouldn't normally back at home. So I have branched a lot and a lot of the food members cook is super good. Haha the other day though a member took us to a Chinese buffet. That was a nice change of taste. I had a lot of seafood at it like clams, oysters, crab, shrimp and some sushi. It was pretty good. But also I did get your box. I'm going to try and make the cake soon or wait till after transfers... I'm not sure but transfers are next Monday so we'll see what happens. I'll be finished with my training though so I might get a new companion or might not. I already ate one of the blueberry muffin mixes for breakfast a few days ago. That was also a nice change up. Normally I either eat pancakes, oatmeal, cereal or over easy eggs with toast.. But I spoiled myself this week and bought some pork chops and shake and baked those for breakfast. Also a good change up. Well for this week I can't really remember a ton. Nothing really jumps at me that I should write about. So I guess these have been going good. We have a few people progressing and some people we really want to work with. Some people are tough to find or tough to teach, but it's all good. I'm staying patient and doing my best to improve each day. Spanish is coming along. I've been a little more helpful during lessons and I am more confident in what to say. So hopefully that continues. But I think that's mostly it. I love you mom and I hope you have a good week.

Tayler - February 1, 2016

So this week was kind of uneventfull, hot, and a little rainy too. It rains all the time i cant even remember a week where it hasnt rained its insane and the other day we were in the church after lunch getting ready to head back towards our part of the area and it started raining a full. So we had to go and find trash bags to put our stuff in so it didnt get wet but we got soaking wet. We spent lots of time walking around this week, i thought we were going to have an awesome week but all of our appointments fell through and we walked all over the place. And yeah so also we found this new investigator he is the son of a less active who is reactivating so we went to their house and they live like 2.5 kilometers from the highway so we had to walk all the way there and they live in the middle of no where and right infront of their house there is like a farm but the animals just go all over, so we were teaching and this huge pig came walking over so the kids went to run it off, but seriously it was the biggest dirtiest grosest pig i have ever seen in my life, there were also little baby pigs too but that was crazy also there is this goat that screams at us it doesnt do the baaaaa but its more like a screaming banshee or something like that its kind of funny. Well also today we went to a lake type thing with a family here from the ward, i will send you some pictures it was pretty nice for being in Buenos aires it was pretty clean. And i saw all of your pictures of the snow that is pretty intense, i think they closed school one time when i was in high school that doesnt happy very much. And i am very jealous that you got to go to the open house that must have been cool. I have seen pictures of that temple and it looks very nice, i cant wait to be able to go and check it out. Well I love you and have a good week. and good luck with the snow.

Jacob - January 25, 2016

Hey mom, it's good to hear that you had a good week. I remember I read that talk by elder uchdorf a few weeks ago, it's a good one. Maybe I'll read it again soon. Also I glad you had a good time with Lexie the other day. Also it's weird that it's already you anniversary... That did go by quick, but I hope you'll have a good time in Idaho with John. Anyways this week was good. We watched a broadcast for missionaries that was super good. One thing that elder Galleguillos and I took from it is the way we ask for referrals. Most of the time we ask if they know someone who is interested in a message of Christ, but now we ask if they know someone who needs service, help or is going through a hard time, or we ask if they know anyone knew in the area (just moved in), but this week our referral totals went up a lot. So that was cool. Also we revamped our teaching pool because we were to busy focusing on people that weren't really progressing. So now we have a ton of new people we want to work on and i think we'll start to have more success. The Spanish is going good, well as good as it can get. It's still hard for me to pick up on things, but I learn a little each day. Also elder Galleguillos and I have been role playing more so that way I'm better prepared to teach lessons. It has helped a ton because now I can explain things pretty simply, but also hit the main points of the principle. So things have been good with me. Anyways I think that's mainly it. But I love you Mom and I hope you have a great week. It sounds like you will. Take care.

Tayler - January 25, 2016

well i had an interesting week this week, basically i didnt have time to work at all. This week i got to do some fun stuff because i will be going home soon. So i am happy to report that for the first time in my mission i was able to go to Buenos Aires Capital and i got to go and see all the cool tourist stuff and let me tell you i have a whole new perspective of argentina now. The city was just so different from all the areas i have been in it is super pretty. I took tons of pictures so i will send you a few. Also on friday i got to go to the temple with president and the other missionaries that will be leaving and today we had a short testimony meeting and we ate lunch with president so that was fun. Also today I got a new companion Elder Ramirez from Peru so he will be my last comp but it should be fun i already now him pretty good so it should be a good last few weeks. Well also a less active member came to church and she brought her 10 year old son who is not baptized so we are going to visit them today to teach them so if everything goes well we should have a baptism with him. Well it feels so weird that i am in my last transfer i feel like the time just keeps going faster and faster. I read the talk by elder uchtorf this week about great aunt rose i liked that it was a good talk. Well i love you and have a good week.

Hey mom, glad to hear you had a good week week. Also thanks for
sharing what you taught at church. I think that's something that I'm
going to have to study with that flipped perspective and then relate
it back to my investigators. I think it'd be a cool lesson idea with
someone trying to understand the scriptures better. Anyways since I
wrote to you on Thursday I don't have a ton of stuff to write about..
I'll probably just do my best to answer the questions you asked. So my
investigators are doing alright. We've been doing quite a bit of
finding lately, but there are a few we are visiting on a regular
basis. Anyways some are doing alright, but it's kind of hard because a
lot of them aren't doing super great on the commitments we give them
and also sometimes it's hard to find them... Sometimes it feels like
the people we teach work nonstop. But we're trying our best to find
those that are prepared and willing to learn more about the church.
For instance on Friday we found a lady that has a crazy amount of
faith. She had cancer and all the way through it she was calm and knew
that Heavenly Father was going to help her. It was pretty cool to hear
her story and my comp and I are going to be going back tomorrow.
Hopefully that'll go well. That was probably one of the best
experiences these past few days. Oh and for my investigators we always
try and leave them at least something to do, whether it's to pray,
read the Book of Mormon, or read a pamphlet. We try and always leave a
commitment because when we commit, we are inviting them to repent. So
we try and do that as much as possible. Um for lessons... That's a
tough one. So we get tons of return appointments from door contacts,
but like 80% of the time they fall through. For instance this last
week we didn't have very many lessons even though we had tons of them
scheduled. But I am understanding the language better. Not a ton or
anything like that just little by little. I can usually say enough at
a door contact for them to understand me and know why were they're
there. But anyways it's all good. Some days it's hard, but I'm trying
to be patient. Elder Galleguillos and I are in somewhat of slump since
its been hard to tell who's progressing or who we should drop... Also
just getting constant and consistent visits with our most potential
investigators is super difficult. But it's alright. I'm kind of glad I
get to go through this now because it's at the times where we are
lowest is when we learn the most. I'm just trying to keep a good
attitude about and to keep working. Well I think that's probably most
of it for this week. I love you mom.

Well we were able to pass by almost all of our investigators this week. But thats about all we did we didnt have lots of time to find new people this week but it was good. We had to drop some investigators wich is always kind of sad but if they arent progressing we dont have enough time to visit everyone. But right now we have 2 families that are awesome one is a reference from a member. The family lives in front of the members house and the members there are helping us a lot with them. They didnt go to church this week wich is frustrating cause they said they were going to go on saturday night but on sunday they had to go somewhere else and couldnt come but this week i have faith. Also we have this other older couple that we are teaching and we had an awesome lesson with them the other day. We had a training type thing the other day and one of presidents assistants told us we have to constantly talk about baptism and thats waht we did in the lesson with this couple. And at the end the lady asked us what she had to tdo to get baptised so that was awesome. But they didnt come either so next week should be a good week. Well its all going good it feels like this month is flying by and i am sure next month will fly by too it goes so fast. I love you and have a good week.

Hey mom, sorry it took a while for me to write back. Our P-day is today since it was our temple trip. But that was a lot of fun. The Newport temple is very pretty and has a cool design. I'll try and send some pictures to ya. But this past week and a half has been pretty good. We had a zone meeting last week on Wednesday which was super good. It was focused on planning and goal setting and the ZL's shared with us their goals for the zone. But after that the zone has done super good. In total the zone has gotten like 20 something baptismal dates set for investigators and almost everyone has an investigator on date. Elder Galleguillos and I don't.. It kind of sucks and is kind of hard, but we have some people super close. Hopefully we'll be able to extend a date for them to work towards soon. But it was super cool on Sunday night. So idk if I told you yet, I think I have, but there is an area 70 that lives in our ward. But we went to dinner at his house and he was sharing some of his missionary stories along with his missionary photo album since it was super long ago. It was super cool, but we shared with him what we were going through and man it was super powerful what he said. It was really simple, but it just kind of went to my core. Anyways idk if I'll share too much about that since it was kind of special, but tonight if everything goes we'll were going to be tracking with him tonight. I'm super excited about that. I'm probably going to learn a ton. Um anyways I think those were mainly the highlights. Oh wait, I also went on a exchange with the ZL Elder Thornton. That was a lot of fun and I learned a lot from him. That night when we were knocking I took the lead in asking whether someone we were looking for was there. But I was able to communicate pretty well and idk it just was awesome to see how I was able to talk with someone without the need for help. So my Spanish is improving and recently I found that reading from the lesson pamphlets in Spanish has been an effective study idea. So I'll probably do that for all 3 main ones. And one last thing, I learned how to juggle. I'll send a video this coming Monday when I master it more, but I think that's mostly it till Monday. I love you mom and ill talk to ya later. Have an awesome week and one last thing, if you could send some family photos I would appreciate that. That way I can show people a little about you guys. Take care.
