Lexie - February 16, 2015

I am alive! Breathing! Everything is going good. I am pretty sure the nasty mosquito sickness is gone but they say its something you can get again so lets hope I dont! But honestly everyone and their dog here is sick. Its pretty awful, lots of people cant walk for days. Pretty crazy. I am glad everything is going good at home and you are having a jacob day. I loved the picture of baby millie! super cute. I bet andrea is just dying having a little girl in her house!

It was a good week this week. We have a baptism coming up this saturday for twin girls that are 9. Their mom is a member but has been inactive basically her whole life but the two girls go to church with their grandma every week. They are adorable and I am super excited for them. Very smart too! I was remembering yesterday, we did the baptism interview with them so that they are ready to do it with the district leadering during the week, anyways I was remembering when we went with the missionaries to teach vanessa and her mom. Crazy huh ll, who knows what every became of them but I was remembering that I would have been about 8 right? And I am sure I thought I knew everything about the church. Who knows! I dont remember much, but our hearts are so close to the spirit when we are little, Its pretty cool.

Anyways, so we are super excited about that and ALSO! this week we have a mission activity! That are every 6 months! We are going to see ruins that are here where there is a big stone with a scene carved in it which a lot of church historians say is lehis dream. Pretty cool huh? I will send lots of pictures! I get to be in jeans all day so I am pretty excited AND we are going to watch meet the mormons! In spanish I am sure lol, But I think I should understand it all pretty good!

I also got a package from tyrel this week! Woooohoooo! He did so good lol. He sent me a book with little stories and quotes for missionaries. I have been reading it all week and have found a couple poems that I love! I wanted to share one with you!

Its called.. I Knelt to Pray

I knelt to pray as day began
And prayed, "Oh God, bless every man.
Lift from each weary heart some pain
And let the sick be well again."
And then I rose to meet the day
And thoughtlessly went on my way;
I didnt try to dty a tear
Or take the time a grief to hear.
I took no steps to ease the load
Of hard-pressed travelers on the road;
I didnt even go to see
The sick friend who lives next door to me.
But then again when day was done
I prayed, "Oh God, bless everyone."
but as I prayed a voice rang clear
Instructing me to think and hear.
"Consult your own heart ere you pray;
What good have you performed today?
Gods choicest blessings are bestowed
On those who help him bear the load."
And then I hid my face and cried,
"Forgive me, Lord, for I have lied.
Let me live another day
And I will live it as I pray."

-Sterling W. Sill

I love this poem. And I know I have shared this before but I am learning so much about prayer and how we have to do our part. Nothing happens just by asking and if we dont live in a way that will help the blessings that we need come about, well, they wont! God doesnt do the things that we can do for ourselves and when we do all that is possible to acceptand do His will, that is when the real blessings come, the miracles! The blessings we didnt even know we needed. I love you tons and I hope you remember to always live as you pray! It is something that I am working on every day and I know that is helping me be more receptive to the spirit and work harder here in the mission. I hope you have a great week! I love you, best mom in the whole world!

well this week was difficult we are still having trouble finding people and yesterday the zone leaders called us cause they were mad that we didnt find a ton of people but i dont understand why they are so mad we are doing all we can to find and i think thats all the lord asks as long as we are working as hard as we can thats all the lord asks so thats kind of frustrating but what ever we just have to keep working. Well also this week we watched meet the mormons president robertson got a dvd of it wich is the only dvd in all of argentina so that was cool i really liked the part about navys head football coach just cause it showed a lot of football highlights man i miss sports. my companion right now is a big sports fan to so me pass a lot of time just talking about sports wich is good we get along great tool. Well i will send you some pictures i dont have much more to report i love you and i hope you have a good week too.

It was an awful weeek. I was so sick. Thank goodness not the puking kind but I got this weird sickness that is going around here. Its called chincongunya or something like that. My body hurt so bad I could hardly walk. I had a fever and hives all over my body and bumps on my tongue and a bunch of weirdness. But we worked all week and finally yesterday I couldnt anymore and after church we went home and slept all day. Thanks to this I feel wayyyy better today. But it was a rough week. Good thing I have an awesome companion becuase she was super helpful in everything.

I hope you had a good week. Let me know how everything is going. Can you believe I reach the half way mark this week? So crazy. I will be on the downhill. And next week tayler. Super crazy. I hope you have a good week. Love you.

Tayler - February 9, 2015

Well yes i really like my new companion he is super cool and is a really great missionary and he is helping me a lot i learn every day especially in the area of planning and being more efficient. But it has been a tough week. We spent all week basically looking for new investigators cause we dont have any and it has been really tough. I have always had kind of a fear of talking to people and i feel like that is why we have been talking to so many people lately the lord is trying to help me get over the fear. I really liked something i read to this morning i dont remember where it is but it is in doctrine and covenants. and it says that if you open your mouth it will be filled and you will be as nephi. I really liked that i mean who wouldnt want to be like nephi and the lord promises that i can be like him only if i open my mouth and talk. so yeah and that is crazy that jake is already 18 i cant beleive it. it is going to be so weird when we all get home again and after that we are all going to have our own lives its going to be so weird not living with all my siblings because thats how it has been all my life but its going to be a good adventure. Well i hope you have a good week i love you

It was a good week! A little bit slow, well mostly yesterday. We had good days and days that we walked for HOURS without lessons. I am sunburned for the first time since I arrived in mexico I think! Anyways, we are working on telling lots of people that we wont be coming back to visit them. It is about the hardest thing, but we had to find new people and those that want to progress. Sometimes I wish I could just shake the people and say "This will make you happy! This is the MOST important thing! Just read the stinking book!" But of course I cant do that because we all have this thing called agency that really sucks sometimes! But it is part of Gods plan, and I am pretty sure He knows that he is doing!

My companion is WONDERFUL! We are having so much fun and oh my gosh she speaks english so well! We set apart an hour every day in the street while we are walking to talk in English to help her practice. She udnerstands pretty much everything I say! You would laugh your head off listening to me talk. I struggle so much with my own language it is hilarious. We had our stake conference this week and President george and his wife came down and spoke. Hermana George is getting so much better at her spanish even though it is a struggle. She is so strong for doing this and for working through all the hard stuff. At the begining of their time here she told me she wasnt exactly sure why she was here becuase she couldnt talk, but I think every day gets better. An area 70 also spoke and he is from Argentina. It was awesome and the best part is that he taught SIMPLY! I think that is one of the keys to being a good teacher. Teaching in the simplest form possible. Anyways, it was really good. They talked a lot about our responsibilities in the ward and that we are the people that should be looking for the last sheep. Not the missionaries. Anyways, I was thinking. You should talk with the missionaries in the ward and ask them if they would like to have a Family home evening with an investigador in our house. It is something we like to do a lot and it would be fun for you and jacob, oh and your new HUSBAND! That is super weird to say lol.

Anyways, all we went well! Oh and this was kind of funny. One of our investigadors loves me and he started sending us texts that said, buenas noches princesita..Well that is so not apropriate! So I sent him a strongly worded note back to expalin that wasnt ok and he udnerstood. So I think we are all good not! Too funny. Love you tons! I am so glad everything went well. Keep me updated on everything that is going on! I love you!

Tayler - February 2, 2015

Wow this month i am going to finish a whole year in the mission i cant beleive how fast it is going. well this week was kind of a weird week cause i got a new companion after beeing with the same one for 4 months its weird to get someone else but anyway my companion is from orem his name is elder urquhart he is super cool. also yesterday a crazy guy came to church and he kind of like got mad at us cause he thought that teaching about adam and eve is not something you should teach cause he thinks it is super deep doctrine but whatever he is a member and got baptized like 4 years ago so he is crazy but yeah we have been just going around to lots of less actives to try and find some partmember families that we can baptize so as of right now that is going pretty good. other than that not much happened this week its all good here. i cant beleive it though that i almost have a year i will finigh a full year on the 26 but i actually will be coming home on the 9 next year because thats how the transfer cycle works so think about that i am almost half way done. i cant beleive how much things i have changed already on my mission i know before i was super shy and did not like talking a lot to people but i can definately tell that that is changing too. i love argentina and i hope one day i can come back with you guys and show you around that would be super cool. I love you

Lexie - January 26, 2015

So this was about the coolest week ever. My companion is Hermana Ruvalcaba. She is from Monterrey and her parents were mission presidents in Argentina when she was like 12. So safe to say she knows a lot. She is super cute and fun and works so hard. I have learned so much from her in one week and the opportunity to train someone else has helped me grow so much. The best way to learn is to teach! Right? The week went by sooooo fast and I slept soooo good. Everything was so fast pased and some how in this week I have totally gotten over my fear of contacting in the street and using the cell phone. I have to call everyone right now, I hated calling before but I think I finally feel good enough that I can do it without gettting too stressed.

I am not sure what else to share this week. Everything went by so fast. It was fun to go to Tuxtla and see president geroge. Before he announced companions he told me that he picked me a good one and after the announcemet he told my companion that I am one of his favorites. I am fully aware of this but gosh he is so awesome. I am feeling so blessed! Every day I am learning more and I cannot even belive that Tayler and I are both appraoching the half way mark of our missions. Time is going by faster and faster and I feel like I am going to blink and its going to be November. My trainer hermana rodriguez went home last week. Finished her mission! She was so excited and even though it was a rough go for my training I learned a lot from her and I am sure you will get the chance to meet her one day! Hermana Agustin too. She is already planning her Honey moon to come see salt lake. Probably should let grandma knowt hat I offered her house haha. But thats all a ways a way. For now I am just happy. Happy to be here and to be working hard.

Action shot...
 Farewell to Hermana Agustin.
 Bus ride to Tapachula...

 Hermana Ruvalcaba!
