It was a good week this week. We have a baptism coming up this saturday for twin girls that are 9. Their mom is a member but has been inactive basically her whole life but the two girls go to church with their grandma every week. They are adorable and I am super excited for them. Very smart too! I was remembering yesterday, we did the baptism interview with them so that they are ready to do it with the district leadering during the week, anyways I was remembering when we went with the missionaries to teach vanessa and her mom. Crazy huh ll, who knows what every became of them but I was remembering that I would have been about 8 right? And I am sure I thought I knew everything about the church. Who knows! I dont remember much, but our hearts are so close to the spirit when we are little, Its pretty cool.
Anyways, so we are super excited about that and ALSO! this week we have a mission activity! That are every 6 months! We are going to see ruins that are here where there is a big stone with a scene carved in it which a lot of church historians say is lehis dream. Pretty cool huh? I will send lots of pictures! I get to be in jeans all day so I am pretty excited AND we are going to watch meet the mormons! In spanish I am sure lol, But I think I should understand it all pretty good!
I also got a package from tyrel this week! Woooohoooo! He did so good lol. He sent me a book with little stories and quotes for missionaries. I have been reading it all week and have found a couple poems that I love! I wanted to share one with you!
Its called.. I Knelt to Pray
I knelt to pray as day began
And prayed, "Oh God, bless every man.
Lift from each weary heart some pain
And let the sick be well again."
And then I rose to meet the day
And thoughtlessly went on my way;
I didnt try to dty a tear
Or take the time a grief to hear.
I took no steps to ease the load
Of hard-pressed travelers on the road;
I didnt even go to see
The sick friend who lives next door to me.
But then again when day was done
I prayed, "Oh God, bless everyone."
but as I prayed a voice rang clear
Instructing me to think and hear.
"Consult your own heart ere you pray;
What good have you performed today?
Gods choicest blessings are bestowed
On those who help him bear the load."
And then I hid my face and cried,
"Forgive me, Lord, for I have lied.
Let me live another day
And I will live it as I pray."
-Sterling W. Sill
I love this poem. And I know I have shared this before but I am learning so much about prayer and how we have to do our part. Nothing happens just by asking and if we dont live in a way that will help the blessings that we need come about, well, they wont! God doesnt do the things that we can do for ourselves and when we do all that is possible to acceptand do His will, that is when the real blessings come, the miracles! The blessings we didnt even know we needed. I love you tons and I hope you remember to always live as you pray! It is something that I am working on every day and I know that is helping me be more receptive to the spirit and work harder here in the mission. I hope you have a great week! I love you, best mom in the whole world!
Love, Hermana Baer
I have a wonderful companion! She knows me well lol. LA MITAD!
