Wow have we had a WEEK! I have questions and stories and lots of stuff to tell! We are going to go through the week day by day I think lol.
Monday, Ok last monday we went to get shirts made! Because you know how much I love shirts. We are going to pick them up today so pictures will be coming tomorrow. Ok I think thats it for monday. Not that exciting lol.
Tuesday, We had an amazing lesson with one of our new investigadores named Jaime. He is awesome and went to 2 baptisms and churhc on sunday even though he was sick! He has never had religion in his life becuase his mom doesnt like it... at all, in any form. But he has so much faith and is so eager to learn. We are so excited for him AND found out on saturday that he has family in our ward and he didnt even know it! How cool huh!
Wednesday, We had our every 6 months activity and went to see Izapa! Its a couple different areas of ruins here in Tapachula and even though some of the rocks you cant see very well it was super cool. I think grandpa would enjoy it! We had a guide that had huge printed pictures of what the rocks used to look like and explained a little of what they ment. He talkeda bout the blood rituals they used to do and blech.. gross gross gross. But anyways, one of the rocks is the tree of life! They all think that it talks about lehis dream but who really knows! After that we went to watch the elders play soccer, because obviously we arent going to play with all the latins. I would die. And had some pizza and watched meet the mormons! I hope you got the chance to see it. It was really good!
Thursday, In the morning we went to the park where they played soccer the day before and helped them clean. And cut down a bunch of plants and all sorts of stuff. The weird thing is we would clean up a buch of stuff and then they dump it off into the river! how awful huh. The rivers here are sooooo contaminated its awful. At night when we got home I thought I had a full on urinary tract infrection. Holy smokes I hurt sooooo bad. So I took cranberry pills. Drank some cranberry juice and chugged 2 liters of water. I got up to pee every 2 hours that night lol. But thanks to that and prayers I felt all better in the morning and have started carrying a water bottle with my in my bag.
Friday, The elders in our district had a baptism that we went to see that was really nice. We took jaime with us and he enjoyed it a lot. At night we got home and I walked into the bathroom and there was a cockroach laying on its back right in the middle of the floor (There were like 6 other dead ones scattered around but this one was right in the middle of the floor) Anyways I figured it was dead so I kicked it out of the way and it flipped over and came at my like a ragging rhino! I went running for the high hills of my gosh bout freaked me out! But my kind companion sprayed it with raid. I can kill them, but ew I hate when the freak me out like that!
Saturday, Baptism day! Jeimy and Jeidy were adorable and there mom was able to go to the baptism. Something I didnt think was going to happen. She has been inactive for years and year and years. The baptism was great and the girls said the opening and closing prayers. In the closing prayer Jeimy just kept asking for blessing for my companion and I, it was adorable. After the baptism she came running up to us and said "Hermanas! I felt Jesus next to me in the water!" Isnt it awesome how close kids are to the spirit? I love it! }
Sunday was pretty normal. So was today. Except for that when I was showering a cockroach crawled out of the drain. Freaked me out.... again. Gosh I hate those things. That and I had a dream last night about taking a hot shower, it was awesome. Then I woke up and took a freezing cold one lol. Oh well! We are super excited for this week. We are headed to Tuxtla at midnight on Friday night to see Elder Oaks! He is coming to Chiapas and is going to share something with the missioanries! We will head back home Saturday afternoon. It is going to be a longgggg day. But we are excited! And alllll the missioanries in the mission are going to be together. Should be fun.
I still cant believe I am half way done with my mission. There is so much more I need to learn and do and I hope i can fit it all into these last 9 months! I sure do love you and am so grateful to have the best mom in the whole wide world! Hopefully you have your lunch break before we head out today. We came a little early to write!
Love, Hermana Baer
