Lexie - April 20, 2015

The area has NOTHING rightnow. Zero investigadors and they just visit the memebrs a ton and thats a godo thing but holy smokes we need people to teach. So the hunt starts today! So get this, comitan is COLD! Well not cold obviously I am still in a tshirt haha but Im not sweating for the first time in 6 months! And its actually cold at night. We have to heat up our water to shower every day. Well dump buckets of water on us every day ha. Anyways, I am going to go shoopping for rain boots today and finally get to use my jacks and sweaters! thats pretty exciting! I probably have lots more to share but I dont remember. Oh! When i was in themissionhouse on friday president gave me a couple books. I sat in bed and read allllll day. For like 7 hours straight. I read believing christ and life stories by presidente faust. Believing Christ is Amazing and if you have never read it go do it like right now! There is a part that totally remindedme of you! It talks about how when we say keep the comandments it makes it sound like we are never going to fail, but obviously we are going to fail from time to time, Itreminded of when we went to deseret book and you saw a book mark that said I will alawys keep the comandments and you flipped it around and said no you wont! Lol funny that I remember that huh. But I am super grateful that I have a mom that understands that and helps us know its ok not to be perfect, we should always try! But mistakes happen and there is a way to fix them. Thank you for teaching me that. I love you tons. And I hope my birthday is somewhat exciting I guess we will see what happens lol. Tomorrow we have a meeting with pres. george in san cristobal so I will try and takepictures. they say its anawesome place. Have a great week and thanks for all the news! (Lexie was super sick this week....she says she is doing better now.)

 Merlo Centro

Can you see me?

Birthday of Juan Martin

Well we had a crazy week. First of all we are finally starting to have succes in our area we have at least one baptism lined up for may and some other posiblities. But just as all that was going good we got a call from our mission president on friday and he told us that me and my companion are leaving the area and he is going to put sister missionaries in the area. It makes sense cause this area is super rich and really i think it is a sister area because it isnt dangerous or anything so me and my companion are leaving wednsday and we are going to get new companions and areas. Right when we were going to have a baptism we get taking out. So the kid that we were going to baptize had his birthday yesterday so we went over there to hang out a little and share some time with them. THey area a little sad that we are leaving but hopefully they keep on going and hopefully he gets baptized. Other than that it was a pretty normal week lots of walking and stuff i hope my shoes last the tread on the bottom is starting to get really worn out but the leather on top is holding out so i am hoping these shoes last another 10 months but i think its going to come close. Well thats all i got for this week. I love you

Tayler - April 13, 2015

So this week was really good we had divisions with the zone leaders and they helped us out a lot in our area. We have been struggling the last few weeks but now at the end of this week we have a lot more people to teach. We are teaching a kid whose family is member except his mom and him so he said he wants to get baptized so we are going to baptize him hopefully at the end of this month. And also we found a few other families that are super awesome and we are really excited to work with them now. So overall the divisions were good and i learned a lot and i am going to work on doing things to get more references from the members, references are key. So this week we also ate sushi and shawarma the sushi was good and shawarma is good too its like a middle eastern fast food you should try it one day. So also there is a member here who is going to be going to the U.S. in like the 13th of may and is going to be in utah and she told me that if you wanted to send me something you can give it to her in utah and she can bring it to me. Because her daughter is getting married there so i will see if i can get the address to the family or something there in utah so you can give me some stuff. But we can work that out more a little later. Well i think thats about it. I love you

Wow I am writing late today, we had TONS to do and are finishing with emailing! Hopefully I can catch you online maybe? I guess we will see! We have one more week of this transfer and one of the sisiters is heading home. She is from Korea! But moved to Utah about 5 years ago and then got called to mexico lol. So she just learned her third language crazy huh! But our presidente gave us permision to eat together with our district today! It was super fun and my companion and I went to the church early this morning and made cupcakes! Good thing Tyrel sent me a cake mix and frosting for valentines day!

This week went good. Super fast and everyone is one vacation so NO ONE is home. They are all at the beach which I will never see even though it is 15 minutes from our house. Grr. Anyways, I also loved conference and I liked the hearing th music talk too! I was going to tell you that! I also really like Elder Hollands talk. It helped me realize a couple things I was thinking about on Sunday and helped a lot. He is super fun to listen to. I was going to tell you too, I read an article in the liahonna that I LOVE. Its called being weak isnt a sin. I think that sometimes in the mission we have so many goals and so many things to work on and do that sometimes we get lost and feel a little burried. Sometimes I do that at home too, when I just plan wayyyy too many things. I was feeling a little bit like that this week with everything we had planned to do and that article helped me a lot. It is super cool. Go read it!

I LOVE cates pictures, goodness she is so talanted! I cant wait to go watch her compete when I get home! Can you believe in like a month We will be calling home again? I feel like christmas was yesterday and now all the sudden I am going to be an old lady. Especially because my companion explained to me that when we have a birthday we are FINISHING a year. So i am really finishing my 22 year of life and starting my 23. That just freaks me out! Anyways, everything is realy fast today so I will write you more if I have time. I love you sooooooo much!

Oh dear, PS, I hate to eat hamburgers 3 times this week. Everytime with mayo and once with ketchup drippppppping off the edges, ugh. It was difficult. But I managed! Love you!

Tayler - April 6, 2015

Wow sounds like a good week. And thats awesome that jake is starting his papers that is going to be very cool. So i really enjoyed conference too. I liked president eyrings talk and the one about the music was very good and i also really liked the one by kevin w pearson he basically just i dont really know how to say it in english but here we saw bajó la caña (dropped the cane) basically whenever someone tells you what you are doing wrong and makes you kind of feel bad for it is what it means so that was a good talk. and on sunday the first session we got to conference like 40 minutes late cause the train that we would normaly take doesnt run on sundays because they are making improvements on the train and so we had to take a bus and we got on a bus that said it went where we wanted to go. And it did just after driving all over the whole city and then went back to where the church was it was kind of anoying what is a 4 minute train ride became a 30 minute bus ride so we didnt get to hear president monson talk at all cause we couldnt go to priesthood session cause it was late at night. So that was a little disapointing but its ok. Also the last guy that spoke in spanish i liked a lot too. His last name is Jorge F Zeballos, he is in the area presidency in the south america south area. And i thought his talk was very good about making decisions. And yes i did hear uchtdorf speak german that was funny. well we are still going strong in our area struggling to find new people but we are finding more peope now. Also i got your package what is the stuff that you put in the zip loc bags i know one is spicy cause i tasted it but i dont know what either of them actually are? I love you

Lexie - March 30, 2015

I am glad things are going good, other than the moisture. We could just send you a bucket from here. I am so glad I probably wont be in Tapachula when it really starts raining because the streets turn into rivers. It was a pretty good week. We have let go of a lot of investigadors but the one that really want to listen are progressing and doing really well. I loved the general womens meeting on Saturday. I am pretty excited for conference becasue I understood a lot! So hopefully this weekend will be good. The deal is the church leaders all speak in such big words that when it is translted sometimes there are words I dont understand at all! But it was all good. We took all the girls in a less active family with us and I think they really enjoyed it.

We had a really funny lesson this week with an older lady that has a little store where we always walk. She has listened to the missionaries forever but never actually does anything. Just likes to listen! We couldnt find anyone to teach the other day so we stopped by to see her. She then started telling me how Obama sent Chinkongunya to Mexico in a monkey and then that the US bought a part of chiapas lol. I was trying so hard not to laugh but i couldnt help it and it came out. There was a bunch more stuff that happened and lets just say that after her prayer I had to tell her that that something was in my eye because I was laughing so hard I was crying. But she believed me and all was good! I hate when that happens, I always feel so bad but it was so dang funny.

That has been this week! Everything is going good and I am super nervous for cambios in 2 weeks. Who knows where Ill be heading! I guess we will see! Love you all tons! Are keaton or Jacob close to sending papers? I am ready for mission calls! Keep me posted! Love you tons!

Mi first time drinking out of a bag. Its how the sell all the water in the streets. Jamaica! Mmmm!!
 My district!

We got some stuff brought to our house that we didnt have. Like a new mop. And a place to hang up and put our clothes. I was so distracted during our studies today, I kept turning around to see if the stuff was still there lol. I was like christmas! So good thing I had my christmas vacation shirt on lol. Yay for a new mop!!!!!

Merry Christmas!

Tayler - March 30, 2015

Well this area is tough, My area is called Merlo 1. But it is just filled with rich people wich is nice because its a safer area but i like being in the poorer places better i think cause the people are more humble but i just have to do what i can with what i got. And how does it feel being the mom of royalty? pretty awesome right. It is crazy how long we have been in Ely i cant beleive all the memories we have there. I doesnt even seem that long ago that we moved there. I was thinking this morning that in may i am going to turn 20 and no longer be a teenager i cant beleive it and i cant beleive how fast febuary and march has gone by i swear that yesterday was january and now we are almost in april. Well Nothing new this week just lots and lots of slamming the doors on us wich is not as bad here because they are usually 15 feet away when they slam the door cause we are outside of their gates but whatever. Its all going good though i am loving every minute down here. I love you

Lexie - March 23, 2015

Hola! Hola!

Lexie - March 23, 2015

Thank goodness Jacob has got his papers going! That makes me a super happy misionary! This week went by super fast and highlight of the week... dun dun dun! We had 9 investigadors at church yesterday! It was soooo awesome! But other than that the week just went by fast. It rained off and on but not like a downpoor yet so it was just nice. It was nice and cool at night, I have been sleeping like a baby! It is wonderful! We had interviews with president george this week. He is so awesome and I really like chatting with him, I feel like hes a best friend haha. He shared with me the scripture in DyC 45: 3-5. It talks about how Christ is our advocate but he expalined to me the way in which he is our advocate. It is a really cool scripture, I share it a lot with investigadors but you should analize it one day and see what you think!

I had another idea for you that I did this week and it was super fun! You should hop on line and read a chapter of the BOM that you know well in spanish and write down all the words that look like a word in english. Then look them up and see if they really are the same! I did it the other day and it helped me alot. There are so many words that are similar and it helps you be able to understand what is going on.

I gave my talk in church on sunday. It was a super strong subject but I felt like it was what I need to share. It was about the talk called settle this in our hearts by elder maxwell. If you havent read it yet go do it! During my talk I shared a story about how they catch monkeys in India with a small box with a hole just big enough for the monkey to stick its hand inside. Inside is a nut that the monkey wants but with the nut in his hand he cant pulls his hand out. In order to be free all he has to do is let go of the nut. I explained how we are this way with all the little things we hold on to that hold us back from progressing. It was super cool and after a couple members told me they were going to start getting rid of their nuts! Haha. Well they said cacahuetes because that is nuts in spanish! Anyways, it went really well.

I think that is about it this week, other than the AWESOME pictures we took this morning. Coming soon dont you worry! Thank you for going to see Tyrel. I am sure you both had fun! Well at least I hope so! I am glad you both communicated my I love yous! Lol. I thought that might be funny (: Anyways, thanks for taking care of him. I sure do have an awesome family. I hope we get to chat a little bit today. Pictures to come soon! Love you!
