Lexie - August 17, 2015

Hola hola everyone! I am not sure how much time I have so I am sending a together letter. Wow what a crazy week. We went to the waterfalls again, super pretty.... again. We saw a lot more iguanas and it is always fun with presidente! He asked me while we were there if I was ready for a new area, because he needed me elsewhere! ugh! I was sad to leave..... but I think it was time for change. The members in comitan are so fantastic and I honestly felt so loved as I leeft and said goodbye to everyone. It has been amazing to be there. On Satruday night we had a talent show wit the two waards in comitan and an elder and I did some simple gymnastics. It was super fun and I am SUPER sore! Cambios came on sunday night and I am not in Tuxtla again! I am super happy to be here! my ward is called pimienta and it is in a different stake than my first area in the mission. I am going to be a capacitadora so now we are the hermanas that go on transfers with the other hermanas in our zone. My companion is Hermana Buendia and is wonderful! I can already tell! She has the same about of time in the mission as I do and I am soooooooo excited to learn from her! This is my first companion that wont be a newbee!! Oh and i go to see Hermana Ruvalcaba and Hermana Fuentes in the bus station when I arrived! I am just flooded with HAPPINESS today! Aside from the fact that I was super nauses the whole way here in the bus. I am serious three hours in a bus and over 100 speed bumps. Not even kidding. Idk whos idea that was but it is awful!! Awful awful awful!! I will try to send a couple pictutres and read some emails but I love you all to the moon and back! I cannot believe I am in my last area..... or probably my last area lol. Talk to you all next week! Or.... I should be here on line for a little bit. Write me back! Love you all!

Love, Hermana Baer

Saying goodbye to Carolina y Pepe.

Wow sounds like you had a very full week, you need to take it easy. So this week i got my new companion straight from the mtc, here in argenting. His name is Elder Ramos, and he is from spain. So luckily i dont have to teach my companion anything about the language or stuff like that but he is a little quiet and i need to help him get more involved in the lessons but we will be working on that this week. So this week was actually really good it finally stopped raining and saturday and sunday were really nice days. So like i have told you the last two weeks it has been raining a ton and there are lots of places that are flodded but luckily in my area it isnt flooded. There is a town in the west mission that is called Lujan and i think the river their raised 18 feet in the last 2 weeks and the whole town is super flooded and there are lots of people donating stuff for the people there, so its been some crazy weeks. Well this week we found some new investigators so that is going well, and if everything goes well we will be having a baptizm this weekend so we are going to be doing everything possible to get that arranged so we can go forward with that. I will send you a picture next week of my companion and me cause i forgot to take pictures last week. well i love you mom and have a good week and dont work to hard.

Lexie - August 10, 2015

Hey Mom,

Thanks for the big email. Sounds like the farewell went awesome, I have been thinking about what to write to Keaton but I will just wing it and see what happens. Exciting that everything is finally getting started for those three. Keaton is going to be an excellent missionary...  I always remember that one of the speakers when we were in the MTC gave a talk about sometimes we can learn from others mistakes and sometimes we have to make our own and learn from them, both ways work. But we should try really hard to learn from others. I think every one of us have our own mistakes that we have to make in order to learn.

We had a good week, I guess. I am not sure honestly, the zone leaders are in our ward and we had a chat with them on Sunday about the ward here. There are some really great people but we have all decided that this next transfer we need to focus more on strengthening the ward. The missionary work works when a ward is strong. We started another game this week that some how came to my mind, hopefully it goes well. We made cute envelopes with an openign and little papers in front and every day they have to write an act of service or love that they saw or felt in their family and at the end of the month they are going to open it together. Hopefully it motivates them to show more love, starting in their homes. Have you been able to do the calendar game this month? If not start it now! It is fantastic and really helps a lot.

I have felt a little bit of frustration in my time here in Comitan, but I know it is where I need to be. There have been some really hard things that have happened but I have learned a lot. Every companion and area has a purpose. I am sure. We had a fun experience on Thrusday. We went to see Hermana Ermalinda, she is 80 something and was alone in her house this week because her daughter and her family went to Mexico. She was waiting for us in the window lol. She is soooooo sweet, even though sometimes she gets mad and says bad words to her daughter lol. But I love her. We got there and asked if we had brought any Dvds lol, we hadnt so we ran to the house, they live really close to us, and brought back a movie to watch with her. She said to us, take your shoes off and put your feet up! And taht I did! Holy smokes was that awesome, it has been more than a year since I have out my feet up on a couch lol. Little blessings! After she wanted to read the BOM but she doesnt really know how to read, but she can sound out the words like when we are learning how to read. It was absolutely adorable and super fun. She talked and talked and talked and talked, I could tell she just needed someone to listen to her because no one was home. She is great, we are eating with their family on Tuesdays this month and the Hermana cooks like a chef. And everything is suuuuuper healthy, which is a nice change from the grease soaked food we usually eat lol, dont get me wrong, its delicious! But healthy once a week is probably good haha.

I think that is about it for this week. This next week there is a talent show in the ward and we have an activity with pres. george. he is going to take us to the waterfall.... that I already saw, but oh well. It will be nice to see again. Maybe I will see more huge iguanas this time! Some members were telling me about a place we have to go when dad comes to get me where there are parrots alllllll over and monkeys and awesome things like that. I am trying to not make plans in my mind already, but holy smokes. 3 months is absolutely going to fly by. I love you tons!

Love you!

Well this week was a very rainy dreary week but i think this week its going to get better. Also we got our transfers today, my companion finished his mission so he went home and i am going to train. So i didnt get my comp today because the new missionaries come on tuesday so tomorrow i am going to get my new companion. I dont know anything about him right now. So it was not a good week for finding new people because of the rain and my comp had to go and visit all of the members so hopefully this week the rain will clear up a bit and we will be able to work a lot. Other than that everything is going great. I am excited but also a little nervous for training but it should be good i am looking forward to it. And a bunch of the members here told me that you accepted their friend request so thats good. Well i think thats it, i love you.

Hey Mom,
Sounds like a good week! Mine went a little better. Feeling better, but still need to do more. 3 less actives went to church on sunday and I was SOOOO happy.

The local fair is in our area and so we stopped by to see if there was anything cool today. I bought myself a blanket and cute little ceramic mug. And some earings... I might have to share them. You are gonna like em! I will send you pictures of our day! The cows here are so weird. Pictures to come no worries. We really did have a better week. We found someone so awesome and he went to church on sunday and loved it but today left to work out of town for a couple months. UGH! Sad deal, but hopefully we can keep in contact because sometimes he is going to come home on the weekends and wants to keep going to church. Have a wonderful week! I hope you are online still a second!

I had a candied pineapple and rambutan for lunch. We are going to eat a lot for dinner in a family home evening. Rambutan are delicious! Pictures coming!

Tayler - August 3, 2015

Well this week something super happened that i have never seen before in my life. The other day we were walking home at night and all of a sudden i realized that it got kind of brighter outside so i looked up to see what was going on. And when i looked up i saw a fireball shooting across the sky at first i thought it was a firework but i realized after that that it was an asteroid falling. It was the biggest thing i have ever seen fall from the sky and it was like green and blue and yellow and all sorts of colors and we watched it until it dissapeared from view, i dont know if it hit the ground but it was super awesome. Also on saturday there was a ward baptism that my companion and i basically organized alone so that was good. Also this week it rained a lot and my area was a mess of mud and water i will send you some pics. So yeah thats it for this week. We are teaching a bunch of good people, and this week we spent i think a little too much time with less actives and not enough time with investigators but o well there is always something to improve on. I love you

The first time Jesus has gone on visits with us. He is going to be an AMAZING missionary!

CompaƱeras! This is an avacado. It is GINORMOUS! AGUACATE!

I have been studying all this week Mosiah 2-5 where King Benjamin is teaching his people. There are sooooo many hidden treasures in those chapters. I have really enjoyed studying them. And thank you for sending me the quotes from your lesson. I like the one about how few things are essential. Its so true. Love you tons!
