Tayler - January 11, 2016

well we had a pretty good week this week up until my comp got sick too. I think he got the same thing that i had so we were working a ton for the first few days but my comp has been sick for like 3 days so that sucks. So i have been using the time to read the bible i am now in psalms 61 so i am hoping i will be able to finish before i finish the mission. We found some really good investigators this week too so we are excited about that. The other day we were counting all of our investigators and we are teaching i think 24 different families and there just isnt enough time in the day or the week to visit everyone and it is starting to stress me out but we just have to figure out a plan to be able to visit them all during the week. Well i saw your pictures that looks pretty intense there is tons of snow, and bailey looks super old and she looks kind of mean in that picture. Well i love you and have a good week.

Hey mom, glad to hear that you had a good New Year's Day. Mine was pretty good. Elder G. And I just worked, but it was a little different because our curfew was moved back an hour. So instead of being out till 9 or 9:30, we had to be home at 8. So elder G. And I played soccer in the house trying to nutmeg each other. We also setup a goal thing that we do one on one with. To put it more simply my soccer skills have improved quite a bit these past 6-7 weeks. But this week was pretty good for the most part. I did get sick on Saturday, I'm pretty sure it was just food poisoning because it only lasted one day, but it still sucked. I was pretty much sleeping all day which was nice but weird.. Anyways I'm fine now so you don't need to worry. Um I guess the highlights of this week were that I was in a trio with elder Fischer and elder Galleguillos. That was pretty fun. Another thing is that for district meeting we read three talks called "Hope through the atonement of Jesus Christ," "Continue in Patience," & "Pride and the priesthood." They were all super good and I would recommend checking them out. That's probably mostly it for this week. I've been doing alright, the language is coming and I feel like I am able to understand a little bit more than before. At least compared to my first week. But I'm glad to hear that you get to study the Book of Mormon this year for your classes. It is such an awesome book. Last night we had the chance to teach a lady about it and she didn't want to accept it. But then we shared a scripture from it that pretty much opened the door to her taking it. Anyways it was really cool and I guess we'll see whether she takes the time to read it a little. But it was a cool experience. But I think that's mostly it. Love you mom and I hope you have a good week.

Christmas!

Tayler - January 4, 2016

Well this week was kind of rough for me there where like three nights that i didnt sleep and it makes it hard to work. On saturday night i got sick and i was up all night throwing up and i could sleep at all, and then church the next day was terrible but luckily i am good now. New years was fun we ate dinner witha family, of course it was asado that is the traditional party food. Well we found 10 new investigators this week. we found like 6 in one lesson, this guy we met last week invited a bunch of his friends over to listen to us and when we go back this week he told us that he was going to invite more of his friends so as of right now this guy has given us more refrences than the members here so thats cool. we are still having problems getting people to come to church, we have tons of investigators but none come to church wich is frustrating. Its weird cause my whole mission it has been hard to find new investigators and now we have tons but they dont progress. And yeah so that is how my week went. I love you

Christmas

New Years

Jacob - December 28, 2015

Hey mom, it was good to see you too on Christmas. That was kind of a weird day.. It was probably the most I've felt homesick so far in the mission, but it wasn't too bad. I'm doing fine. I think there was just a lot going on in that day that reminded me of home so it felt a little weird not being with you guys. But I'm glad I had the chance to talk with you a little bit. Anyways I had a really good Christmas week. It was pretty fun singing the Christmas songs, spending time with families, and also giving/receiving gifts. It was a really good Christmas and I'm glad I was able to experience one this early in my mission. Anyways the most crazy this week is probably transfers for sure. Man it's weird that I've already been out for 6 weeks in the field.. It felt like nothing compared to the CCM. But for this transfer three elders are leaving. One elder (Elder Rios) is heading home and two other elders were assigned to a different area. But Elder Galleguillos and I have a little challenge ahead of us because we are taking on the area of that those elders used to be in. In other words everything pretty much doubled. But I'm excited and am looking at it as an opportunity to improve even more. But I think that's mostly it.. I'm not exactly sure what to write since I talked to you earlier... But I'm doing good and the Spanish is coming along so it's all good. I love you mom and I hope you have an awesome New Years!

Lexie told me that she is offically engaged that is crazy, and exciting. It is going to be so weird she is going to be married and i wont be able to hang out with her that much anymore. welll it was good to see you guys on christmas but now i dont really know what to tell you, after christmas not much happened. The highlight of the week is we went to visit some people with our recent convert and he took us to visit one of his friends. and we taught the family and they accepted the invitation to get baptized so that was awsome. but it was a good week even though we didnt have that much time to work we worked hard when we could and had a good week. So yeah other than that there isnt a lot left to say. I love you and have a good week.

Jacob - December 21, 2015

Anyways this week was good. I can't remember much of
the week. The only times I remember is Saturday and Friday night.
Friday night was good cause me and Elder G. We're just having a good
time and I was doing my best to speak Spanish all of that night.
Saturday I had another Exchange with one of the Zone Leaders, Elder
Cahoon. That was a lot of fun. He's a funny elder, but when it comes
to doing the work he puts everything a side. I think the main thing I
learned from him is to talk to everyone. We did a lot of that when we
were on the street. We gave out Book of Mormon's, DVD's, and little
pass along cards to everyone we could. One thing that I liked that he
said is that maybe the person we contacted isn't interested in our
message, but because we go to visit them we may bump into a friend or
neighbor that is. So the lord put them into our path so that we can
reach someone that the lord has prepared. It was a really good
perspective on contacting and made me see why it's important to talk
to everyone. Oh also yesterday I went caroling and that was a lot of
fun. We took a bunch of members and hit up some less actives and
investigators. We were able to schedule a ton of appointments and
create some new records for people so it turned out great. Um I don't
know what else to write, I figure this week isn't too important to
write since I'll be calling you. Anyways I love you mom and I hope you
are having an awesome Christmas season.

we had a pretty good week. we only had tuesday and saturday to work basically due to meeting and activites, but it was a good week. We visited some of the people we found last week and i think some of them are going to progress so we are excited about that. Also yesterday we went to a hospital to give a members wife a blessing and that went well too, i felt really good that we could do that for her. And yeah so basically thats it there wasnt much new going on here. But we found lots of new people this week too so we are improving and that is good. I love you mom and i will see you this week. and the time difference to utah is 4 hours and i will try and call at 6 here so it will be 2 in utah

Jacob - December 8, 2015

Hey mom, that's awesome to hear about Jessica! I wish I could of been there for it, but it's all good. My Spanish is coming along fine and it probably is better than 2 weeks ago, but at the same time it's a little frustrating sometimes because I want to help, but the language barrier Is the only thing stopping me. But I'm trying to stay patient. That's something that a lot of missionaries have told me to do. I did the attribute of Christ activity and in PMG and I kind of learned that I'm pretty patient with others, but not so much with myself and that I don't give myself much credit for the Spanish I do know. So idk it's something I'm going to work on. But anyways nothing super crazy happened this week, but I did have some cool experiences. Saturday this week was Exchange day so my companion was Elder Seibold for the day. He is another missionary in my district and was Elder Galleguillos (my trainer) old companion. He has been out for about 6 months in his mission and he gives me a lot of hope because he knows the language pretty well for not being out too long. I hope that I can know the language as well as he does by the time I'm a couple months in the field. But anyways we had a ton of success when we were finding/teaching. I think that day we had about 6 or 7 lessons. Granted the lessons weren't super informative, all we did was share Christmas videos with people and teach about Christ. We even had the help of a member for some of the lessons. But I learned a pretty important lesson from that experience about planning. The Night before I was super tired when I was trying to plan cause it was like 11 at night. (Missionaries generally stay up way late on exchange night so don't worry) but anyways I told Elder Seibold that I was just going to plan the rest tomorrow. He thought it was the smart thing to do because if we're tired were not thinking about investigators rather we think about trying to hurry up and finish. The other reason is that the spirit isn't really guiding us when we are too tired to think. So I went to bed and finished the planning the next day. But it turns out the area I chose to tract in was having a giant neighborhood yard sale. So there was people everywhere in the streets. We had a lot of success just talking and sharing our message with everybody. We even got a free taco from one of the vendors, but elder Seibold was smart and thought we should buy it with a Christmas video, it worked out pretty well. But it just reaffirmed what elder Seibold told me the night before. Because if I did plan the night before maybe I wouldn't of chose that area to tract in.. So that was my experience with planning for this week. And another good experience happened yesterday (Monday). We had zone conference and had the opportunity to listen to Elder Dube, a member of the seventy. He gave a great message that was very helpful. He spoke a lot on missionary work and the overall theme was that this work isn't about us, rather it is about the Lord. President Taggart also spoke at the conference about consecration and his message was really good as well. All the talks focused on missionary work. I learned a lot and I know I got some room for improvement so I hope to remember the words which were spoken and do my best to apply them to me. Um those were probably the most memorable things this week, but me and Elder G also had some pretty good lessons last night. One was with Miguel and Gloria, they are some of our progressing investigators. They are doing well but they just need to study on their own and they would be golden. They feel the spirit during our lessons and they even commented on it a few lessons ago. I hope they make the decision to be baptized soon.. But anyways I think that was my week. Oh wait last night we didn't have a dinner appointment so we watched the Christmas devotional while we ate at home. I don't remember a ton since I was cooking while listening, but I did like elder bednar's on Christ's birth. Ok now I think that's mostly everything. Anyways I love you mom, I hope you have an awesome week. I'll try and ha some pictures later today, but we'll see.

So on thursday we went to the temple and had a zone conference there that was nice its always nice to have the oppurtunity to go to the temple cause we dont get to do that often. And on monday we had an open house in one of the churches in the stake so thats why i couldnt write on monday. Well its all going good here, on monday we have transfers and i think i might get transfered cause i am pretty sure my comp is going to train this next transfer so we will see on monday. Also yesterday we found this really awesome lady, she was really happy we visited her, we were looking for former investigators and we found her instead. But i think she is really interested and hopefully she comes to church this weekend the only hard part i think would be she lives really far from the chhurch but we are going to see how we can help her with that. So today we moved to a new apartment, and that took all of our pday so we havent had a chance to do anything today and i am so tired i am just glad that on monday i will be able to relax a little. Well I think thats about it. I love you and i am excited to see you guys in a few weeks on christmas. Its so weird it doesnt feel like christmas at all but oh well its the last one in my mision.
