Lexie - October 26, 2015

Ok here we go. I am freaking out that I only have 2 weeks left. I can hardly get my brain to concentrate in the morning when we study but oh well. It was a wonderful and stressful week! We had a baptism on saturday. Hermana Iris. Pictures to come. She is wonderful and it was so cute on Sunday after she got confirmed I tapped her on the shoulder and asked how she felt. She says, how did he know exactly what blessings I needed? We got to talk about how all the blessings that she will recieve from preisthood holders come directly from God and I could tell her confirmation was a real testimony builder for her. Very cool! I gave her a couple of my shirts and skirts and she has been using them all week long lol. Anyways, a part from that we are suffering a little bit in finding new people but we have a couple people that should be getting baptized in the next transfer which will be cool for my companion. the next trasnfer is her last. We had a fiesta/family home evening last night for Hermana Marisol, yesterday was her 1 year mark as a member of the church! We bought cake and balloons and it was super fun. We played a game at the end where I held up cards with words on them and the person that could see the card had to explain the word to his group without actually saying the word. I made a super hard on and one of the hermanos that was there was rocking it so his next roung I started with the super hard word and BOOM, no one guessed it lol. The word was somebody. or in spanish alguien lol. It was super fun. This week should be great, at least I hope so. Everything just feels a little weird but I guess I will just keep working. Love you ton and hope you have a great week!

See you soon!

Tayler - October 26, 2015

We had a pretty good week. On wednesday we set up a table in the feria wich is like a flea market type thing, and we gave away books of mormon and pamphlets and magazines and stuff to the people so that was fun. And this one lady came up to us she told us she was hebrew and tried to convert us to her religion, she thought that we were wrong and she was trying to save us. I think she was a little crazy she talked for like 30 minutes and then she left and then came back and talked some more. But other than here no one else really stayed and talked but we did give away lots of stuff. And yesterday one of our investigators came to church we have been working with her for a while but it had been like a month since she came to church so that was good. And also yesterday was the presidential elections here in argentina so due to potential danger we were not allowed to leave our apartment after church yesterday so we just hung out and didnt really do much so that was nice. And yeah that was basically my week, also i learned a card game it is like the official card game of argentina i will teach it to you guys when i get home its pretty fun. I love you mom and have a good week.

Jacob - October 29, 2015

Hey Mom, It's kind of crazy that Halloween is only in two days. I think my district is going to buy a bunch of candy from the Tienda and I'll probably share some of the stuff you sent me with. But this week was pretty good. I got sick last thursday night until about Saturday. It wasn't fun, but im doing better now. There were a few things that were hard this week. One of my lessons was really bad, really bad. We got talking about deep doctrine in our second lesson and it was not good. Im going to try and get back on the important stuff this coming lesson though. I think that was the hardest part this week though. Everything else was pretty good. Our devotionals were really good this week and also the little movie they show on sunday's was good. My language skills are getting better, but it's a little slower than i'd like.. I just wish I could speak fluent now, but I know I will in due time. I've found a few ways that I really like to better my language, like comparing english and spanish scriptures. By doing that I can usually pick out the words I don't know in the spanish one. Also I really would like if you sent me a package or letter. I think the website is Mexico MTC care package or something like that. I got a friend request from them on my facebook, but if you googled them, I'm sure you'd find them. Um I'm not sure what else to write about. It was a normal week here at the CCM, just lots of ups and downs, but I'm glad i'm here. I love you Mom and i hope you and John can get everything together for lexie's homecoming. Its crazy that its less than a month away!

One morning this past week.

Just some more pictures.. but Its cool cause the mountain looks like 4B and that's the district i'm in.

Lexie - October 19, 2015

Hey Mom!
Sounds like everything is going good. I havent read jacobs letter yet, you are always first on my list! Dont tell Tyrel lol. Anyways, it was a super fast week.... again.  In othernews we are going to have a baptism on saturday! We are suuuuuuper excited and the hermana is wonderful. Sad news and happy news with Christopher. We told him that we were going to stop vising him every week because he still just dont have the desire but he was super sad and said he is going to take us out to dinner this week lol. Then he gave us tamales. Anyways, he was sad, and I think that might just help him to realize that this is something important. Since we started having lessons with him everything has gone up hill for him, he got a promotion and everything. But hopefully he will be able to feel and see the difference. I am getting more and more nervous every day about what comes next but I am feeling confident that Heavenly Father will guide me in what I need to do. I still dont feel like its over yet, and its not! But it is coming soon. Ugh, so weird.

So this morning I killed a chicken! Actually 2. Pictures to come lol. that is all for right now. Super quick I know but we dont have a ton of time today. I love you tons and I hope we can chat a second!

Love, Hermana Baer

Happy 17 months, Hermana Baer (:

My companion refused to kill one. So I killed two, and then she took a picture ha. We are going to eat caldo de pollo for lunch!!! Yumm!

Mi amigo! This buddy lives in front the church and always comes to visit us when we arrive lol.

Tayler - October 19, 2015

It was kind of rainy down here too, the other night we got back to our apartment right as a down pour started and for a good 30 minutes it was coming down in buckets and then it stopped and the next day everything was muddy but now it is all dried out and good. We were looking a lot for new investigators this week but havnt found anything yet but we will keep looking. Also yesterday it was mothers day here in argentina so happy mothers day even though its in october. And yeah we have a new ward mision leader so we are trying to work a lot with him but he works a whole lot so its kind of hard but its possible. Also the other day i went on an exchange with another missionary and i went to his area and it was insane we went in this place that is a villa or in other words the really rough neighboorhoods and it was intense it was all like 3 or 4 floor buildings and the street was only like 10 feet wide and it was like a homemade road it was really interesting i have never seen anything like that in my life. So that was my week basically. I love you mom and have a good week.

Jacob - October 22, 2015

Hey mom, its good to hear your doing alright, even if you've had a busy week. I think i understand what it feels like to be busy because here at the CCM, its nothing but busy. We get up at like 6:30 and are busy all day clear till like 10:30.. Im glad I worked for the DOT cause Its not hard for me to wake up. Anyways this week was alright. The food is good and Ive been nicknamed the Americanizer, because every oppertunity I have i try to make a sandwich with rolls or toast. Last night I made a spaghetti sandwich and one of my teachers looked at me like I was crazy, but I dont care cause it tasted good. Not as good as your cooking, but I manage. I have tried quite a bit of different stuff, mainly with the entrees, but at least im branching out. My classes have been good, but learning the language is hard... I found myself liking to memorize scriptures the most. One thats been on my mind is Ether 12:6 and 2nd Nephi 31:20 I think... Ether 12:6 says, Y ahora you moroni quisera hablar algo conocerniente a estas cosas. Quisera mostrar al mundo que la fe es las cosas y se esperan y no se ven, por tanto, no contendais porque no veis porque no recebis ningun testimonio sino hasta despues de la prueba de vuestra fe. I really like it because It talks about how we wont receive an answer from God, until after the trial of our faith. Ive been sharing it in my investigator lessons trying to get them to understand that we will only recieve an answer if we have a trial of faith like prayer or reading the book of mormon.. Tomorrow I have another lesson and I hope my investigator prayed, but well see. Anyways Ive been fine. I miss some stuff from home, but they keep us busy most of the day so I dont have time to think about it. Oh and this sunday I gave a talk in spanish at sacrament meeting for my branch. I talked about consecrating ourselves in the work and doing the will of god. Also I spoke about having complete faith in God. Im thankful lexie sent me a letter cause it talked about just that and I kinda stole her ideas for my talk, but everyone liked it i think. My spanish was probably brutal, but now Im most likely off the hook for giving talks now. Um Im not sure what else to tell you, but im doing good. Ill try sending you some pictures.

Lexie - October 12, 2015

Hey Mom!
Holy smokes I love the pictures. Jacob looks so grown up, kind of freaks me out a little bit lol. Yesterday was sundayand I made an effort with my hair and make up and someone told me that I look about 24 years old.... ugh. Has the mission aged me!? Be honest.. Anyways, How crazy is that! We are all out the country learning and spanish haha. So awesome. I have been praying a lot for your well being this week! Hopefully it hasnt been too weird. I am glad you have John! This week went awesome.... during the week haha. We have some really good investigadors right now. I am pretty much posotive Iris and Darinel will get baptized in this transfer. We have aothers that are really awesome people but that are progressing a lot slower. havent quite understood the importance of the gospel. One of those investigadors is Christopher, holy smokes that kid makes me want to pull my hair out! He is so awesome mom, and we found him in an awesome way. He ALWAYS reads and says his prayers an he has finally started going to church with us and went to a family home evening we had last night. Anyways, he is awesome, but he says he doesnt feel like he needs or wants to be baptized. We think he is scared to make the changes. But at the same time I know he hasnt been able to fully understand the restauration. Anyways, honestly one of the most frustrating things in the mission is meeting people who are so so special and that feel the spirit in the lessons but they still decide not to accept it.... we are going to keep teaching him and see what happens! Pray a lot for Hermano Christopher so God can touch his heart!

Funniest thing the other day we were walking down the street and a guy comes up to us and gives us alittle card, we accepted it and he flipped it over and it said something about how he was deaf and was asking for money. He was a super strange character but his acting wasnt very good because I started talking to him and well.... he obviously understood and heard everything that I said haha. So I guess he needs to practice a little more. We had divisons with some of the hermanas this week and I was with hermana cook. That is the second DAY in my whole mission that I have worked with an american, but it was super fun. She is the hermana that is like world class violin player and is studying music at the university of utah. In all the lessons she sang the alto part of the hymns and it was super fun. Everyone made us sing more than one hymn lol. I cannot tell you how much I would have liked to know how to play piano during my mission. I need to really work for that goal when I get home because I am sure learning now is going to be a lot harder than before but you should ask around if there is someone that would be willing to give me lessons. And then you can help me practice lol, but the whole lessons with your mom thing never works how we want it to lol. And we should start playing out flutes more, I dont want to forget how!

Hmmmm...what else happened this week. not sure what else to write right now. It was a good week and we are working lots. I love my area and everything about being here. I am just happy and going to enjoy what I have left! I love you tons! Have an amazing week and hopefully you are online for a second!

Tayler - October 12, 2015

I cant beleive jake is already down in mexico thats crazy. On saturday one of the members here in the ward showed me the post you put on facebook about all of your children serving for the next 5 weeks and i saw the pictures and stuff. It just feels so unreal. So also on saturday we had a baptism, i will send pictures. It was a 14 year old kid named Ervin we have been teaching him for like the last two months and finally he got baptised cause there was a time that he stopped coming to church but the have come for the last month so he got dunked. He asked me to baptise him and my comp confirmed him so it was a good week. And then we went and bought ice cream the traditional baptism celebration. And also for the baptism i made brownies and everybody loved them so that was cool. And that is about it for this week. Now we really need to find new investigators cause now we dont really have anyone so we are going to work on that alot this week. Also the other day we got a reference from another ward and we are going to visit them on thursday so hopefully they will progress. Well thanks for the pictures, looks like jacob has a nice shiny gray facha suit ( facha means like stylish just so you know) I love you mom, and go utes, its killing me not being able to see the games.

Jacob - October 15, 2015

Hey mom, this week was pretty tough and learning Spanish is hard, but i think the next few weeks will go by better. I think the first week is always the hardest, but it has been good. im glad im here. This week has pretty much a lot of learning spanish, eating, teaching lessons (in spanish) and just hanging out I guess. My first investigator was Luis and it was a really hard first lesson because we didnt know what he was saying or let a lone what to say back.. But these last two lessons have been really good. tonight we teach him our last lesson, but i think itll be good. we committed him to baptism last lesson so this lesson were going to explain the law of chastity, a little about the temple and then lastly some of the plan of salvation. He lives with his girlfriend so we will have to marry him for him to be baptized, but oh well. Um the food has been good, ive kinda sucked it up and ate whatever theyre serving. some things are better than others, but at least there is cereal for breakfast and dinner. also ive ate a lot of watermelon, kantalope, and that green melon. we went to the temple today which was pretty sweet, ill try and send you some pictures next week. but being here, the days are long, but the weeks are fast. Its kind of interesting, but so far so good. anyways feel free to ask anything about here cause idk what to say. Love you.

my companion is Elder Williams and he is from Idaho. We get a long pretty well and we had a good talk last night about how we grew up and what it was like. he plays football so its nice to ask him a little about that, but so far we have got a long just fine. He is also going to the same mission as me so i hope we get the chance to be companions again someday. We have heard a ton of rumors about the first investigators.. weve heard theyre teachers in training, that they are legit investigators or that they are just members. but im taking the lessons serious no matter what because even though my spanish sucks and he is a member.. me and my companion can still teach him or strengthen his testimony with our lessons. i have played a little cage soccer, which is soccer in a fenced basketball court. its pretty fun and is really fast paced. i also have played basketball, ping pong, foos ball, lifting and other excercise stuff like olypticals and they also have tennis courts so there is plenty to do here. im not quite sure if i could say my testimony in spanish.. itd be really simple like yo se dios es mi padre celestial, simple stuff like that.

Jacob - October 8, 2015

He's in Mexico! Centro de Capacitacion Misional

Lexie - October 5, 2015

Hey Mom,

Goodness gracious it is the crazies thing to see Jacob all ready to go. I am sending him a letter to the MTC today so hopefully he will recieve it quickly.

So this week has been absolutely full of amazing miracles. I cannot believe everything is coming to an end and every day that I wake up I get more and more nervous. I know that I have a lot more to do here and my companion is helping me out a lot to help it all work out. She is really great. Hermana Ortega is also from Pachuca Hidalgo same as Hermana Agustin but half of her family is living in mexico city right now. She is 20 and is finishing the mission in December. She has been a Capacitadora for a couple transfers so she is helping me alot with understanding everthing we need to be doing. So conference was wonderful. wonderful wonderful. And yes I watched it in spanish. Always in spanish lol. But I understand a lot more now. It is crazy to think that there are 3 new apostoles. I want to extend the challnege to you as well as to my self to start meditizing scriptures! I am guessing that was his made up word lol in spanish it is Meditizar lol but I think that woult be a fun thing to do when I get home. One of my goals these last coule transfers has been to memorize scriptures. I have abou 20 memorized. Maybe I can get to 40 by the time the mission ends. Anyways, this week I memorized 1 samuel 16: 7 that talks about how Gods looks at our heart. With everything that has happened and the amazing miraces I saw this week I know that God has helped me to change aspects of my heart iin this year and a half. I feel so confident in praying for special blessings and knowing that if it is His will that he will grant what I need. On Sunday we were a little stressed out about people attending conferece because no one could go on Saturday. In the moring Hermana Iris went with us and she will be getting baptzed on the 24 of this month and is wonderful. Then in the afternoon a Mom and her two little daughters came with us, she is wonderfl and really wants to chagne to help her girls. A guy named christopher came to church for the first time which was amazing! And a lesss active that we had an amazing lesson with this week came to chrch for the first time in a year and brought his grandaughter that he wants us to teach. And on top of all tat there is another hermano that has come to church like 3 times but has never really wanted to listen to us and well....we have an appointment with him this week. I went to bed so happy last night and so confidence in the promise in the BOM that says if we keep the commandments God will bless us immediately. I saw those blessings this week and I am so grateful to be where I am and doing what I am doing.

Love you tons mom. I hope you have an amazing week and dont get too excited yet! 1 month left!

Love, HermanaBaer

Last night with Hermana Buendia.

Hola (:

Tayler - October 5, 2015

well that is pretty amazing, i am very proud of my little brother. But man is it going to be interesting he is going straight to a foreign country to start his mission, i have heard down there for the american missionaries they let them lose in the streets every once in a while to contact people, they do that here too. BUt i am not sure if i coud have done that. So Eerything is going well down here. We had interviews with president this week that was good to talk to him and get some things out of my mind, and also i really enjoyed conference. I listened to 3 sessions in english and one in spanish cause we had an investigator that session. Also I really enjoyed elder hollands talk about mothers it made me think about how much you have made and influence in my life and how grateful i am to have the best mom in the world. So if all goes well it is basically for sure that we are going to have a baptism on the tenth this saturday so we are excited for that. Other than that it is all going really well. I love you mom and have a good week.

Jacob - October 3, 2015

Well, it's official...Jacob is a missionary! He was set apart this morning. Pres. Fullmer gave him a really nice blessing. Lots of direction to be courageous and brave in speaking, both in sharing the gospel and in working with companions. He had Jacob read in the bible dictionary about being set apart and how that makes one holy as they do their part, the Lord makes them holy to do His work. Anyway, it was pretty amazing for me to know that all three of my kids have testimonies and have chosen to serve full time missions. As it says in 3 John 1:4 "I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth."

Lexie - September 28, 2015

Hey mom!

So.. today starts my last transfer in the mission. Blows my mind, and herman buendia is headed out tomorow to finish her mision in Tapachula. ugh, sad deal. I would have loved to stay with heranother transfer. So my new and final companion arrives tomrrw, hermana Ortega. I am no sure where she is from or really anything about her but hopefully it all goes well! I left my towel with other sisters when we had divisions with them this week and have been drying off with an extra sheet all week. That hasnt been all that wonderful but I wil survive! Lol. I also realy enjoyed the conference, how cool thatyou were there! I lovd presidente uchtdorfs talk it was my favorite and honestly as I listedned I learned a lot. Morethan anything I thought about my need to ENJOY everything thathappens in my life. We always tell people that God knows exactly why we have the trails and troubles that we have and that we need to do our best to not just work through them but to work through them aAND learn through them, with a big huge smile.... even when everything is awful! Much easier said than done. We have 2 investigadors that have been coming regurally to church and should getbaptized this transfer. One has gone to church 5 times but works a lot so we havent been ablt to teach him all the lessons.Anyways, I am going to read dads emails now and I will let you know the plans. Love you tons!

I felt like this week just dragged on forever. our phone broke this week and we wont get a new one until wednsday wich makes things complicated also on friday i got sick with some thing, and my whole body hurt and my stomach and everything today i feel a little better but it is still not all the way gone so the weekend was pretty tough we didnt work that much cause i was in the bathroom every 10 minutes so we werent able to leave the apartment that much. But something cool happend on saturday, i will send you pictures of this. One of my converts from my first area got sealed in the temple and they invited me to come so that was super cool. The only bummer was the temple told us it was at 12:30 but by the time we got there at like 12:10 it was already over, but i did still get to see them inside right outside the sealing room, let me tell you it was one of the best days of my mission i was really happy. Then we took pictures and stuff outside. Then on sunday president thurgood came to our sacrament meeting to talk, that was cool too. So that was basically my week or atleast the highlights. I love you mom and yes that is the address for my mission. Have a good week.

hello wonderful family of mine!

I am writing to all of you today because we have been in the mission house all morning and are totally ou of time. Have to be quick! Last week we bougt some awesome stretchy fabric because Hermana George said she would made us giggly skirts! She came and picked us up this morning after we went and ate gorditas which are fried dough things with meat inside (We will be eating them when you are here dad) And we were there al day because she messed up her sewing machine and the tension was all sorts of weird. But the skirt truned out cute! Ill send a piture next week.

So this week has been crazy. he did intercambios with other hermanas in our zone and I got totally lost coming home lol, we got off our combie way to early bcuase the lady I was askikng directions from told me we had arrived at the street we wanted....yeah, we were way far away stil lol, anyways, we ended up going home in a taxi which is way expensive butoh well! I had an xperience this week that was probably one of the most amaznig things thathas happened to me personally through a prayer in my whole mision, but I feel like its something I should share wen I get home. it was realy amazing and my testimony of prayer and the book of mormon grew so so much. We hace several investigators that are really awesome and two came to church yesterday and we aer super excited for them. This is the last week of the transfer and we are a litle nervous because my companion and I both finsh the mission next ransfer so she will probably head out.. ugh!But I guess we will see whath happens. Sorry its a short letter but Ilove you all and am so excited for everything that is going on! Would you do me a favor and send me the direction for jakes mission so I can send a letter his way? then he'll have something when he gets there (: Love you all tons! Feliz semana! Sean feliz sean mormon!

Tayler - September 21, 2015

I like the new furniture it looks good. It is weird to see the house again, it has been a long time since i have seen it. So we had transfers today and guess what i am staying here with my companion so we have 6 more weeks together but after that i will be done with training him and i will be transfered for sure i have spent so much time here and i was ready for a change but looks like the lord didnt want a change so i will just have to keep on trucking here. Thats alright though i love the members here and but we need to work a lot this transfer so that when i leave my comp will have investigators and people to work with cause right now we dont have that many. So yeah i was pretty sure they were going to transfer me so the members all made us food and stuff this week cause we didnt know if i was getting moved or not so we ate a lot of good stuff this week that was good, last night we ate lasagna with some members and it was delicious. Also yesterday we participated in the ordanation of a recent convert who recieved the priesthood and was ordained elder, that was a cool experience. He got baptized the week before i got here so basically i have had the chance to see him grow in the gospel and it was a very spiritual moment when he recieved the priesthood. That was the highlight of my week. And yeah so i dont have that much more to say other than i am going to need lots of patience if i am going to survive these next 6 weeks but its possible. I love you mom.

Hey Mom!

Sounds like a crazy and fun week! I am glad everything went well with Jacobs farewell, kind of weird that its a month before he leaves but all is well! We had kind of a crazy week but everything turned out well. The sunday services were cancelled this week and we all got to participate in the re dedication of the mexico city temple. Pretty awesome. On saturday night we went to the cultural perforamnce that they did, it was a play about the histroy of the church and the church here in mexico. It was really neat but at the same time we invited a new family that we found and they all went but for a first experience at the church it was alittle weird lol, so I did a lot of explaining what was going on during the play. Then we got to go to the sunday morning session of the dedication. Elder Eyring and Elder Holland were there. It was kind of cool because both of the Brothers that were translating I have met here In the mission. One is from Argentina and he translates beautifullllllly. He came and talked with Elder Oaks and the other was the translater for Elder Oaks when he came. Kind of weird to see things like that and say, hey, I have met that person! My companion knew a bunch of the people in the play because she lives close to mexico city. Anyways, it was really neat. We have a couple investigadors that are really progressing and it is making me soooooo happy. We were running all over this week because one of the hermanas in our zone was sick so we had to travel to their area 2 during the week which is like a 40 minute bus ride away, but they have an awesome area its called chiapa de corzo and we drank POZOL! Goodness how I love pozol, but you will have to come here to try it, sadly its not something I can bring home. Oh well!

So I found a scripture that made me laugh this morning lol. I was reading in Mormon chapter 9. and in verse 24 I think it has a promise for missionaries lol. If they drink any deadly thing it will not hurt them!!!! Haha, Made me laugh. The whole chapter is great. I love what it says at the begining about how we would feel to be living in the presence of God knolwing we hadnt obeyed his laws. Anyways, what awsome things we find in the scriptures lol.

I dont have a ton of stuff to tell this week but I am enjoying my area and my companion is honestly wonderful. We laugh so much and she is such an amazing example. Every week i just get more and more excited for Jacob and Morgan and for listening to Keaton. Its just awesome and of course my amazing mom that I cannot wait to see. I love you tons and I hope that everything continues to go well with school and work and everything. Hope your online a second. GUESS WHAT! My companion has permission to call her family and her sister just opened her mission call! She is going to the Arcadia California mission! How awesome is that!!! Wohooo! Love you!

Well i forgot last week to tell you but it was your birthday last week so happy birthday i feel bad that i forgot but i have a hard time remembering sometimes. Well the kid that was going to get baptized this coming saturday didnt come to church yesterday so we have to change the baptism to another day thats a bummer. But other than that we had a good week lots of walking but we did have some good lessons. so yeah thats really all i got this week. I loveyou mom and have a good week. Oh, my shoes are doing good, a member her gave me some new shoes so i have been using those usually so its all goign good there, and we teach a little of everything in our lessons mainly we are focusing on our one investigator that is going to get baptised but we have already taught him all the lessons so we just go and share scriptures and stuff with him. so yeah. and my comp is awesome, he is a hard worker but i think he misses home and it is hard for him but at least he works.

Activity with the Hermanas in our Zone. Hermana Cook was studying music at the university of utah. She is an amazing violin player. She has played with the piano guys! and lots of other people.

Hey Mom,

This week was still a challenge but it went much better and we saw some pretty amazing blessings. I feel like I know the area and am starting to really get to know the members better. Sooooo, before I forget, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Woohooo! I hope you eat a delicious cake and an extra piece in my honor! I feel so happy that Jacob was able to go to the temple and that him and Morgan are getting ready fo head out. Why is jacob having his farewell so soon? It seems so weird that they are almost leaving because that makes me remember I am that much closer to coming home. Honestly ever night taht I write the date in my journal I cannot even believe it. I am excited to see everyone but I think I am kind of scared to death to go home. I feel like there are so many things that need to happen or that should happen and I already know that nothing is going to work how I am imagingin in my head but oh well. All will be fine. We have been running around like crazy today and have accomplished nothing, except that I bought fresh cocunut with lime mmmmm so delicious. I am going to miss the fresh fruit here, it is wonderful.

In our district meeting this week someone was talking about how in our prayers we should talk with God and not to God. I have been working on taht this week and even though it has been a little tough I have been able to see a difference in my prayers and my realtionship with God. I feel like we wouldnt have much of a realtioship with someone if all we did was talk and ever listened to what they have to say. I think I have been doing that and I am workinghard to make a change. Hopefully it will just keep getting better. I love you tons and I hope that you have a wonderful week! I should have time to send pictures today. Love you!

well this week went by a lot better. I am still stressed out and a little frustrated but atleast we worked better this week and things seem to be going better with the other elders too so thank you for your prayers. Well during the week there wasnt that much that happened it was kind of a difficult week cause we dont have lots of investigators so we spent more time with less active members and a few come to church so that is cool. Also a member brought one of her friends to church and we are going to go and visit her tomorrow but she seems interested, also we got some other good references last week so we have so people we can start on so this week should be a good one. So when does Jake enter the MTC, and when does Morgan leave? I dont remember. And so yeah i love you mom and i hope you have a good week.

Hey Mom,

Thank you for the funeral pictures, I am glad it was a good experience. I am getting so excited for Jacob, and Morgan! When does morgan head out again? I cant remember his leaving date. Soooooo, I havent read taylers email yet but I will see what I can send him. I know that it is frustrating when things dont go how we imagine them. I think I felt that I little bit this week. I studied all morning today about patience because last night I was about going kill something (sarcastically speaking of course because no one here understands my humor) Ok, anyways, sometimes it is hard to have leaders that are 18 year old boys. But at the same time I know its their calling and they are doing the best they can. I studied today in Mosiah 28 is the chapter where the sons of Mosiah ask for permission to go and teach the lamanites. Preach my gospel has an activity that tells you to look for all of the reasons why they wanted to do it. I have done the actvity before and there are tons of obvious reasons, most importantly to share the gospel but I saw a part I really liked this morning. I like how they talk about the need to show the lamanites how to love. And I love that that is one of their desires. I am going to work on loving everyone, myself included. I know its not always the easiest thing. We always want to be so much better than we are but loving yourself and others really changes everything. I am usually good with the investigadors and memebrs but sometimes I really struggle with other missionaries. It is going to be one of my goals this week. Share as much love as I can and be lesss sarcastic because it just doesnt do good things for me lol.

We are doing the calendar actvity again with my new ward. We made like 40 this week and got them all handed out yesterday. I hope it helps us to have a stronger realtionship with the memebrs and work more closely with them. You wouldnt believe the amount of time energy and brain power that missionaries put into working together with the members in the work. We all know that it works better together but sometimes It is soooooo hard to multivate members to join us in this work. Do all that you can to have a realtionship with the missionaries in our ward and offer help with out being asked. I love the scripture in doctrine and covenants I think it is 58:27 If I remember right but it says that we should always be involved in a good cause, honestly I have no idea how to translate it right lol, los hombres deben ser anhelosamente cosegrados a una causa buena! haha! But I know that its true, when we do kind things or work hard because we want to and not because we are asked we gain so much more. Invite them over for family home evenings. Ask them if they have investigadors they would like to bring to the house for alessons. Or if they need you to help more closely with someone. Tell them about friends and INTRODUCE them to people. Missionary work doesnt work without members.

I sure hope we have a good week ahead of us. I am excited to get going. My companion really is great, we deep cleaned our house this morning, which was greatly needed. There were parts of the house that I dont think had been cleaned in a year. Crazy stuff. But just want you to know that I love you tons and that you are always always in my prayers and on my mind. I know that sometimes things just are hard, and I think that is ok. Heavenly Father will never give us more than we can handle and its ok to have off days, I have them too. Just remember that I love you tons and that in 10 short weeks I will be back home! Ready to go shopping and eat yummy food, watch movies, and hang out with my mom. Have a fantastic week!

Those are very nice pictures from the funeral thanks for sending me them. I really like the things they do for the people who served in the armed forces i think that is cool. Well this week i have been pretty frustrated, stressed and i have just been super lazy. I think it has a little to do with how long i have been in this area and i am just tired and i just need to go somewhere else. We have transfers again in 3 weeks so i will probably be getting moved out of here in the next few weeks.  I dont know, ever since i got moved to this mission it has been hard, the culture and attitude of the missionaries is just so different than what i am used to and it is killing me, i know the things that i should do and i am trying my best to do it and then there are the others who just do whatever they want and i dont know what else i can do. But whatever other than that i am doing good just a little tired now that i have a year and a half in the mission i feel a little burnt out but i am just going to have to keep going until the end. Well i am hoping i have a better week this week and i hope i have better things to report next week. I love you mom, have a good week.

Hey mom,

Crazy to hear about grandpa. I am sure everyone at home is feeling both happy and sad. The plan of salvation is wonderful. One of the things I remember most about grandpa is when he would ring the bell to say the prayer for the family parties. I remember when I left for the mission and you said to grandpa, "You will either see Lexie in a year and a half or in the next life" If I remember right he said "I hope in the next life!" Too funny. I feel very blessed to have met so many of my great grand parents. We will miss grandpa but what an amazing thing the plan of salvation is! What an amazing family we have, I cannot wait to be together for the eternities! Grandpa was always an example of a leader and has helped our family to become an eternal family. Hasta vernos con el rey! This week has flown by and there is a lot that has happened. Tuxtla is sooooo HOT.  Did tyrel tell you that one of his converts in the mission lives in Comitan? How crazy is that! It was a pretty cool thing to find out. My companion is soooo sarcastic holy smokes I love it. I have been laughin all week long. The ward is really nice and dun dun dun there is CARPET in the chapel here and BENCHES! This is my first church that doesnt have tile and chairs in the sacrament room. Crazy stuff. Our area is big but isnt huge and I am feeling super happy to be here. Also missing a lot Comitan but all is well. Tomorrw will be my first time going to the councel with president george for leaders. Hopefully i dont have to practice in front of everyone! That stresses me out. We will see. Today I bought some fun painted earings and ya! everything is good. Love you tons and I will send pictures soon!

So we didnt end up having the baptism but we will in a few weeks. This weekend we have multi stake conference and i guess one of the apostles is going to speak but he isnt going to be here it is going to be broadcasted from the states so yeah. Well that is kind of sad the grandpa Ehlert died but he lived a very long life and i think it was time that he moved on, its awesome that we know we will see him again. I dont remember that many things about Grandpa Ehlert, but I do remember all of the Christmas parties, and back in the day when we had easter egg hunts at their house. I also remember one day went went to visit them and we talked with Grandpa about the mission, about his work that he used to do. Well also there is this member that we activated a little while ago and this sunday she brought her brother to church and we are teaching him and we are planning his baptism for the 19th of september so that should go on with out any problems. I also took a picture of my comp and i so i will send that to you. I love you and have a good week.
